From RareBoxing's YT channel: [yt]X2164J2TN5w[/yt] The title of the video reads "Terry McGovern v. Young Corbett 2, 1903" but the description says "Terry McGovern and Young Corbett re-enact their 1903 title bout."
Interesting clip of theMcGovern/Young Corbett re-enactment fight in 1903...I am quite sure that they were not the real Terry McGovern against Young Corbett, but 2 other boxers on the re-enactment..
This is a re-enactment. The ring is too small, and the audience are cardboard cutouts. On the way to the ring the real Corbett shouted to McGovern through his dressing room door ,"come out and take your licking, you Irish *******". McGovern started the fight in a boiling rage ,which was just what Corbett wanted ,Terry rushed forward to murder Corbett ,,left himself open and it was GOOD NIGHT !
That was for the first fight though, in 1901. According to the YT description, this is a re-enactment of their 1903 rematch.
Well the second fight went 11rds , hard to tell how long the "re run" went Th ref counted to 10 in about 4 seconds ,and that was not McGovern in there, it might have been Corbett I don't know.
Imagine how difficult it would've been if it were the fighters themselves re-enacting their first bout?
McGovern was an ustable guy at the best of times, and he hated Corbett,no way would it have been a pulled punches job.
