To answer your question: no, Herschel has no chance whatsoever versus even a fringe contender. The guy is a specimen for age, but he has no business fighting in a "major" promotion.

I've been a fan of the guy since I was a kid, but he's an even worse MMA gimmick than Kimbo was.

 

Agree, Walker is no threat to any top 20 MMA fighter; he has no particular skillset to fall back on.

He is incredibly impressive from an athletic vs aging perspective, but without the name and age nobody would ever care about his MMA career.

 

I think the Aussie Kyle Noke played Rugby League (although not at any great level) but you are right, these type of athletes have all the basics with their training regime.

They remind me of my sparring sessions (boxing). I know I suck, but at least I don't ask people to pay me money to watch me fight.

 

Walker is the kinda' guy that if he was 25, the sky would be the limit.

He's doing well for what he is, a promotional gimmick who's doing it for fun rather than money.

Teddy Atlas ones said that if you were to choose a sport that would great for fighting or boxing I can't remember, but he choosed Basketball and said that Football was the worst
