I always liked wearing Saucony Jazz for cheap running shoes. Pretty light and surprisingly comfortable for the price. They're marketed more as a "life style" shoe now, but they're old school running shoes.

Depends on your definition of cheap. I got some asics (i forget which ones they are) for about £45 and they've lasted ages and i have shin splints which these shoes seem to keep in check.

How much are you looking to spend?

I got Nike Vomero 7's and they're great for all round work.
It depends if you need neutral cushioning(like me) or you might over-pronate and need a more stable shoe.

Unless your flat footed, pretty much any tennis or basketball shoe will do.
