Hate to tell you this but Floyd is a boxer not an english major, just in case it wasn't obvious. I think he dropped out of school like many fighters. There are some "book smart" fighters. I'd say Froch, Hatton ... well spoken if not eloquent at times.

I don't buy or rather didn't buy for one second Floyds "I'm going in with no gameplan...i'll just find a way to win" No way. He went in with a gameplan. It just didn't look great once you got him in there. I think he thought he'd do a job on Maidana. Whats that saying Tyson used to say "everyone has a gameplan...till they get hit!". I understand why he doesn't go in with a game plan. You need to be prepared for anything and take the fight as it comes. React to what your opponent is does in there and adjust on the fly. It's worked well for Floyd so far.

I also think Floyd stayed on the ropes on purpose. Seems he wanted to prove he could beat Maidana without running.
