Cotto already said he is not concerned about the catch-weight of 145.
He said It doesn't matter if it takes place at 145 pounds, That was the weight he had wanted from the start. Cotto said he will go up in weight by eight to ten pounds by fight night, So no excuses from the man who will actually be stepping in the ring with pacquiao.

Manny fighting Cotto at 145 is basically the same as Cotto weighing in normally for a welterweight fight. Cotto sees no problem in the 145 catchweight and will rehydrate to a normal healthy weight. Hes not dumb enough to agree to a weight which will make him look like DLH or an extra on MJ's Thriller video.

The one thing i am actually worried about is the cut. I hope it has been healing well because November is just around the corner and if manny opens that eye, he will not let go of it unlike Clottey.

This is what I gather largely from this. Roach is just trying to get in Cotto's head about the extra two pounds. Yes, losing the extra weight may impact Cotto slightly, but I feel it is a combination of mind games and actually trying to weaken Cotto.

two pounds makes a difference in the 140 range. My bet is not one person here has ever had to weigh in.

Roach backed his camp into a corner earlier with statements they would not go back to WW after DLH. He explicitly stated at that time that Manny is not a true welter and would not go above 140 again. They believe that Manny can spark anyone at welter after the Hatton fight but they dont want to make a precedent by fighting there.

    Is it Cotto's terms ?

Pac wants the bragging rights of a welterweight title....then he needs to
fight a welterweight at the welterweight weight of 147 lbs !!!!

Otherwise shut the hell up and fight a Jr. Welterweight.

He called out Cotto....so, you want to fight him with one hand tied behind his back ???

You didnt' see Armstrong and the rest of the great fighters with such exigencies from their oponents...
thats why I say don't mention Pacman in the same breath with those fighters...not saying he isn't good,
just saying he is definitely not great and it appears that he is a fabrication....where Roach has him fight
his oponents with one hand tied behind their backs !!!!!

I agree. Also, funny how no one here is criticizing Marquez for fighting PBF at 143. So it's different because Pac is #1 P4P and JMM is #2?

I do think that if Pac can make 147 for Hoya then he can do it again for Cotto. Not doing so is pretty much admitting that an old Hoya is not as much of a threat as a boxer in his prime.

Cotto is a lot bigger than Pac, so just couple pounds will keep Cotto from weighing so much more than Pac. He will weigh more on fight night, but perhaps a tad less.

I would want to hear more of what some of the hardcore PR Cotto nuthuggers has to say about the 145 catchweight. I keep seeing threads started by these riff-raffs with different agendas trying to find different ways to discredit Pac for this fight.
