They actually looked like huge threats . With Jermells ko over lubin and. Jermall ko over J Rock . They actually looked like real threats . Fans liked them because they were calling out everyone so fans liked the hunger youth and aggressiveness they bought to the table . Maybe its just an act . But for a second there for a tiny bit they actually looked dangerous.
But they also showed some real vulnerability before...Jermall was Trout and Jermell was even before that with Demetrius Hopkins...But for me Jermell looks like the worst of the two.
I think you’re spot on as those were two good wins, seems to me that they were both living off of that though instead of actually moving on,Floyd would not have taken his eye off the ball like these did. Playing around like children with Broner is hardly gonna prepare one for success. I reckon they are better than what they showed last week, they both lucky to have such protection as their opponents aren’t afforded such luxury.
Explains why neither fought Andrade, don’t wanna hear anything from either until they actually step up and show us something, just shows in this sport how careers can be manufactured. Big difference between Crawford and Spence who you feel can beat anyone and these two fakes.
What we saw was overhyped fighters taking on and beating other overhpyed fighters. Who ever said J-Rock was any good? But Charlo beating him proves hes as good as elite to some people. The rest of us could see all the holes in his game.
I'd say they are threats. Just not as big as a lot of us thought. Doesn't mean that they can't improve, though.
Never bought into the hype myself. When you have a boxer who's been a pro for a decade and they still haven't beaten anyone of note you have to ask yourself why they haven't stepped up to the top level yet. Real talent shines through it rarely goes unnoticed for that long. In an era of so many belts even winning a world title doesn't mean much, remember Broner was a 3 weight world champion before getting exposed. Charlo's clearly lack the quality at the elite level, they are loud and have been protected up to now but I suspect they'll continue to fall short every time they step up or cherry pick the wrong guys.
Lubin and Julian Williams are not world level fighters, That's why you stupidly fell for the hype, Light middleweight is a very weak division. Korobo and Harrison exposed these bums, and neither of them are top 5 fighters, Imagine these Charlos vs Golovkin/Alvarez/Saunders/Jacobs!
This is pretty much where I stand on it. A lot of the folk who were slating GGG for having a rep with no 'quality' wins where also hyping these two up. But then the same worked the other way around too I suppose.
LDBC dropping them like a stone Funny that, a year ago GGG was ducking him & Charlo was considered MWs new boogeyman! Cult of Charlo & Wilder, remember? MVC committee suicide & Charlo was gunna wreck GGG ha ha ha LDBC has no middle ground, self awareness, humility or respect. They are scum... Rather than just admit Korobov is actually very good & maybe Charlo can adapt & learn from this they'll just throw him under the bus now & hype the next black MW hope. Its funny how they are always playing hard done by & the race card all the time yet its Europeans who are always getting shafted in boxing in the States (GGG, Kovalev, Korobov, Fury) yet they still have a chip on there shoulder's & act like its them who are being treated unfairly LOL
I didn't say lubin and willliams were world class fighters .they D + plus at best I just said with those fights they were looking the most dangerous . Those were their signature wins
