For a while there the Charlos

It's a culture thing.
Charlos have made millions fighting nobodies and got title shots without really earning them. Jermell beat some fringe contenders and got Vanes on his resume but Jermall did **** all. And they immediately started complaining.
They come from a relatively hard background and yet act as if they are spoiled brats.

The victim mentality is a real thing. And it's not just "a black thing". I can drive out to any rural area that is not that well off, and they will mostly have a similar mindset.

Same **** with Wilder. Just recently dragged race into things to say as if the "white man" was trying to hold him down. Dude is a world champ and a multi millionaire. But no, no! He is being held down.

And then you have someone like Brandon Rios who never really gave a ****. He just wanted to fight. When he made his HBO debut(and got his balls smashed by Anthony Peterson) he said something in the lines of: "I know who I am, I know where I stand in boxing". He knew he was "just a brawler" and a nobody, fighting his way up the ranks. But he did not give a ****.

 

J-Rock is real solid. His chin just betrayed him that night. He's never shown a suspect chin before. He took some flush power shots from Latimore with no problem, and Latimore can bang. Maybe he cut weight wrong for the fight, or maybe Charlo was on the juice for the fight, I don't know.

 

I havent watched the Jermell fight yet

I just rewatched Jermall vs Korobov and despite thinking he lost I still think hes a hard out for Jacobs and if Golovkin fights coming forward he is going to get hit by right hands. I am not trying to say Charlo will win or is a threat to Golovkin but he will be able to land which he struggled to do vs Korobov. Now if Golovkin boxes and moves and jabs I figure its a much easier night

I think Canelo with his head movement and counters will beat Charlo to the punch frequently

Charlo did some things right vs Korobov:

1) Never abandoned his jab despite it being tough to jab a southpaw
2) Never gave up, kept throwing combinations, almost got him out of there late
3) Made adjustments, he definitely narrowed his stance which allowed him to move better later in the fight
4) After being aggressive he started to try and draw Korobov in and counter
5) Finished exchanges with his left hook while Korobov was still in range and landed it several times and stunned him with the hook

 

Charlos: the shades of Chris Eubank Jr.

 

Both are still quality fighters, regardless of the fights over the weekend. But it's been clear as day they are NOT the monsters some like to portray them as. Very good fighters, of course. Jermell Charlo has looked less impressive then his bro, so not totally surprised by his loss. Lara and Hurd should be able to get passed Jermell at 54. At MW, I would have to pick SD, Jacobs, canelo, Saunders, 3G over Jermall. And none of this suggests the brothers aren't good fighters, or could NOT upset my picks.

 

Jermell and Jermall remind me of the Peterson brothers, they were hyped up at the start and now everyone can see they are mediocre.

Over privileged (& in some cases overrated) African Americans & Mexicans cooking the books to keep the train rolling! It's disgusting... Non American fighters & promoters need to wake up & make a stand & start boycotting the States! Its getting worse...
