For all his shortcomings, Jorge Luis Gonzalez had a pretty mean punch - How would he do now?

He would be like he was in the 90s, a journeyman with a built up record who every once in a while would do better than advertised. Hard to see him beat any of the decent guys around today. I'm really struggling to think who the best guy he could beat today, Cassius Chaney?

 

I think he’d have a pretty good shot against the current incarnations of Joe Cusmano, Helenius, Kownacki, and Tom Schwarz.

His problem with today’s division is that there are a lot of guys who hit hard and he was too easy to hit.

 

To be honest, I’d completely forgotten about that arsehole. I was never a big Bowe fan but I was cheering him on that night and was delighted to see Gonzalez flat on his back.

 

Agreed, thats about his level/ceiling. Then he would get fed to.....well just about anyone. But he'd probably get a lot of chances because hes at least entertaining with his schtick and he's very beatable

Same here. The first time I saw him was on the undercard of Bowe vs Holyfield II. He was fighting an over the hill Renaldo Snipes and crudely taunted him the whole evening. Unfortunately Snipes wasn’t able to put anything together against him but I was hoping for a surprise knockout.

 

Not most of the time, but if Joe Hipp could give Morrison more than he asked for...
