the 2nd and 3rd fights lend credence to this.

No...first one was a legit draw. If the fat boy hadn't been knocked down like he usually does it would have been a win, but his
    weak win let him down.

    2-0-1 for Fury.
    0-2-1 for Wilder.

We are clearly living on other planets....

To be fair I am currently on the moon. I dropped my keys and can't find them anywhere everything looks the same up here.

Nah the fans know Tyson won the first fight even if he didn't get the decision. I'm struggling to think of a more lopsided trilogy.
I still can't think of one. If you are aware of one I would be interested to learn.

    Thanks

Well, I live in Dallas. Not quite the moon, but whatever.

I watched the fight with 7 other guys, three of whom are real boxing fans. I had it a draw, one other guy had Wilder ahead by virtue of the two knockdowns, and one guy had it for Fury.

    Basically yes.
At least we don't have another Norton vs Ali trilogy situation, in wich the clear winner of the trilogy lost on paper.

Do you think that your sample may have been biased towards Wilder taking into account that your all American?

I'm not implying that I'm not biased myself that being said I do score round by round and clearly Tyson was the ring general and won the majority of the rounds.

I have conceded in previous threads including this one that Tyson is idle and only does just enough (See Vlad fight as an example) to nick a round.

I did score a few of the rounds even as I found it difficult to seperate the two.

It's fine though your entitled to your opinion and I respect it. despite disagreeing with you.

I just think Tyson should have and could have made it more decisive with a tiny bit more effort.

I actually thought the first fight was the most embarrassing for DW because Fury “carried him” by clowning him the whole fight, then took his best shot…

Yes, he beat the crap out of Big Dosser three times.

He outboxed him in the first fight and then outbrawled him twice.

I had Fury winning but it wasn't a dominant performance, he didn't massively outland Wilder and got knocked down twice, so the decision was not terrible. Aside from incredible powers of recovery and heart, he was saved in the 12th by a subjective refereeing decision: had the fight been waved off as soon as he hit the canvas, few would have complained and nearly everyone would have seen Wilder as the legitimate winner. People got carried away because it was an incredible comeback from where Fury had been while 2.5 years inactive and the majority probably expected Wilder to KO him. Fury believed he won the fight but he knew he didn't dominate and if you fight away as the B-side, close rounds will likely be given to your opponent. Fury easily could have been given a KO/TKO loss by the ref, so in a way he was fortunate to get a draw.

Making a big deal of rounds won misses the big picture: Wilder doesn't need to pile up rounds to KD or KO you, as we saw against Breazeale and Ortiz in the subsequent two fights where Wilder didn't win a single round of the 8 contested. Wilder is happy to let his opponents work hard to win rounds while he minimises openings, conserves his energy and looks to land KD/KO bombs. In 2/3 of the fights against Fury, he landed critical bombs and Fury said that the first and third Wilder fights were two of the very hardest of his career. The only truly dominant performance was the 2nd fight, the other two were highly dramatic and competitive.

Lol forget about American..a couple of the guys were cheering on Fury solely because he was white!
Shocking, really. I learned something about those guys that night....it was a poker plus boxing night.

I nearly always support the American in a bout but I'm rational when it comes to scoring.
Note that I gave Wilder a 10-8 score in the last round; some have scored it 10-9 because Fury "won the rest of the round". I don't buy that scenario. Putting a guy into a 9 second coma makes it your round, not his.

It all doesn't matter because Fury proved beyond a shadow of a doubt he's better than Wilder in the next two bouts.

    Fair enough.

These things are complex I generally follow my countryman but if there an arsehole then I will back the opponent. I know others will follow regardless I'm just not that guy.

I was favouring a 10/9 round myslef but can see a 10/8 as per my previous post.

Obviously knockdowns means he won two by default (rules is rules) but otherwise it was pretty clear and one-sided - a couple of rounds that thick enough rose-tinted shades could be justified, but a draw takes some significant bias.

That one card was about as blatantly cooked as you're going to see - the KD's made it look even more ridiculous, but it was already a joke card.

Fury won that fight in the eyes of anyone with the slightest hint of integrity and honesty - even those with biases towards Wilder... To get a Wilder win you need to be completely unscrupulous and deeply biased towards Deontay.

    Comparing Fury-Wilder 1 to Lewis-Holyfield 1 isn’t doing your case any favours
