We are finally having a good debate here...However, if you were a boxer and this was undoubtedly your biggest fight, wouldn't you want it to be 100% fair, using the best available methods at the time? Like I said, urine tests have been bypassed before...Lie detector tests are not reliable, blood tests pretty much are. Floyd might be scared of Pac - who knows? But keep in mind, Pac is not taking part in these tests by himself.

If I was Pac and I knew I was clean I would agree to the blood test - it's not a big deal...The fact that it's never done before in boxing is what makes it a big deal. You're right though, I would have loved for blood testing to have been implemented before this fight...

I gotta agree that I don't like the precedent that it would set.

I edited my previous post to add this. This is what I mean about him being singled out.

However, if I was Pac, Yes I think I would do the tests just to end this once and for all, but I can understand his reasons for saying no and he has every right to. I hope he agrees though because we all wanna see this fight.

Fair enough...Pac should just agree to the testing though, this will silence everyone all the way from Sr. to Schaefer and GBP. Let's see what happens.

For those of you who haven't read it: this thread contains about the only posts from anyone remotely qualified to talk on this subject.

It seems that their conclusions are extremely different from the OP.

I'll take the word from a DOCTOR that has studied and knows the subject at hand rather than those of an ESB poster...

ahhhhhhhhhhh.......the **** that can be spread as truth is just crazy....

Urine can detect practically every steroid that exists. At least it's totally on par with blood tests in that regards, as long as it's done randomly too.

In regards to HGH, there's a few conclusive new researches that allowed a new method to test it hrough urine also. That method is just not approved yet...

This doctor talking is only expressing the limited methods they may have at hand or he's not being totally honest....

I agree with this. Were talking about a fight that will have a monumental effect on Mayweathers legacy and also be a big factor for Manny, not to mention the money involved.
Unfortunately it probably cost a lot so subjecting every fighter to it might be difficult to institute.
With all the cheaters in sports that are being uncovered lately I think it could be a good thing as well.

Then Top Rank needs to get their own professional person to make a statement to the contrary. If something is not approved yet, than its a non factor.

Mayweather is picking and choosing who needs to be subjected to the Olympic style testing which is not exactly within the rules. Mayweather isn't the person to dictate this unless it's agreed by both parties.

Interesting that you say "ESB poster" rather than "expert in the field of sample testing".
"ESB poster" sounds like someone totally ignorant.

Are you saying that 3rdIslander is not who he says he is?

    BTW, which doctor?
If it is Tygart, then he is not lying. He is deceiving by omission. As has been said ad nauseum - HGH itself cannot be detected in the urine. But it results in other chemicals being created in the body which can be detected in the urine. Which results in - according to the one person posting here that would know - exactly the same accuracy whether it is a urine test or a blood test.
That means that HGH (or any other chemical that they claim can only be detected by blood test) can be uncovered by the marker chemicals they leave in the urine.
