Just watched ESPN First Take and the discussion came up about this issue. Mark Schereth stated that "HGH CANT BE DETECTED IN URINE". Also he stated that there is nothing wrong with giving blood random to ensure that both fighters are clean. By him being an ex Pro Football player, I believe he knows first hand about the matter.

Sorry, but your analogy is way off. Unless you are in some type of pedophile competition, where is the similarity with this discussion. Also, people have to submit to polygraph, paternity, and STD test all the time to vindicate themselves. And it is not about proven himself innocent, it is about him and Floyd proving they are both substance free for this fight. Dont take it personal, it is just business.

The problem with so many "experts" talking is that they do not knbow what they are talking about.

HGH is a naturally occurring hormone in the body, therefore, even blood test would not indicate how how you are taking it as it is metabolized immediately in the body. However, biologic markers or breakdown products which could be detected by both urine and blood would show up ito indirectly indicate that a person is using HGH.

Here is an excerpt from the Australian Academy of Science regarding HGH :

"After hGH has been secreted by the pituitary gland or injected by a drug-user it breaks down quite quickly into other products. Scientists in Australia and elsewhere have monitored changes in the bodies of athletes following the administration of hGH and have detected
    This content is protected
    –
    This content is protected
    – that could be used as indirect evidence of doping."

It is not the specimen like urine or blood that is the problem, but rather the testing procedure. If newer drugs are there, it can not be tested simply because the testing procedure is not yet established. How the drug affects the body, or how the body metabolizes the drug would determine how it is to be tested. Like a drug with a short half-life, the drug per se might already disappear from the body during the testing, or a masking agent is used, but its physiologic effect on the body would produce markers, like EPO is high red cell count, or a breakdown product (in HGH, some like pro-collagen named PIIIP or osteocalcin) could be detected.

O MAN O MAN...IN UR THEORY PAC WOULD HAVE AN OPEN WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE PERFORMANCE ENHANCERS...LETS NOT FORGET..FLOYD WOULD ALSO HAVE THIS OPEN WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY...DON'T ACT AS IF ONLY PAC TAKING THESE TESTS...FLOYD WOULD HAVE TO GET IN ON IT AS WELL:deal

It can not be that difficult to understand that the premise of the analogy is how making a baseless slur can serve the purpose of discrediting your competition.

Commonly, you get to this stage where there is corroborating evidence in support of the assertion.

    No.

It's a side issue manufactured by the Mayweather camp in an attempt to discredit Pacquiao. I can not recall Mayweather demanding Hatton or ODLH submit themselves to such testing.

I can not recall Mayweather voluntarily offering to submit himself to the same before each and every one of his fights either, if it is just to prove he is substance-free.

You have your opinion and I have mine, however, all Pac need to do is take the test. If he has nothing to hide, then take the test and prove us all wrong. Very easy.

So pac-man can't take a FAIR test because Arum wants to use the MLB/NFL testing that was so effective? Or the boxing test that couldn't even detect Shane Mosley? So pac-man doesn't have to give a 5-10ml sample (which is 0.22%-0.16% of his total blood) because he thinks it makes him weak? They can't just have random testing up until the week of the bout? And then Arum wants to dictate WHEN the tests will be but Floyd is wrong for asking for random testing? C'mon now
