I'd give the 1966 version of Ali (eg with prime speed and reflexes) a very good chance of beating either Klitschko.

  4. I stated facts and reasoning behind my views. The only people trolling here are the people that keep bring up matters that I discussed in the lounge as that topic was appropriate for that forum. As I said before, I believe the turn this thread as taken is a direct result of people not being able to back up when they claim Muhammad Ali would defeat the Klitschko brothers. It is a plain and simple fact that Ali would be too small for either of them now, and that there styles that they use now are all wrong for Ali and many other great Heavyweights. I will ignore the child mod who is not following the forum rules in terms of banning people for harassment. I have sent a email to the site owners and she to will be dealt with accordingly.

  5. Exactly. The size and strength would be far too much for Ali to handle. Of course I do believe that Ali would be brave enough to make it to the final bell, but I don't see him having any realistic chance of winning it.

Ali was 6'4, had speed, reach, great footwork and a chin. He would've made both the Klitchko brothers look mechanical and foolish.

Chris Byrd made his debut at Light heavyweight yes..
But so did Holyfield.. Would you ever say that Tyson got dominated and stopped by a past prime Light heavyweight(which in your mind is a middleweight)
Ali struggled with Henry Cooper, who would have been a cruiserweight by todays standards (probably not a good one anyway)
Ali also went life and death with a half blind fighter ..

  12. This would be highly competitive fights.

Ali would have his hands full with both Klitschkos. Both got more boxing smarts than anyone Ali has ever fought.

Seriously, if you studied the sport in a technical aspect Ali would be able to box circles around both brothers. Neither of them are fleetfooted. Wlad's got a great jab, but how can you land on a fighter you can't even plant yourself to hit?

I'll give the Bros credit for being the best champs right now, but they don't stand up to most past champs. The bros win by fighting big. Vitali got beat by an out of shape Lennox. Wlad has had issues in the past with pressure fighters.

They wouldn't get destroyed by Ali though, they are competitive and both have talent. Ali at his fastest would be a nightmare for nearly every champ out there. The Bros would be a great fight for any past champ prime for prime. They just won't win as much. They have serious flaws. Hell, Steward had to re-train Wlad the basics in footwork for starters! Men like Ali had that stuff down pat all the way into their primes.

Get a good fighter with pressure, a chin, and great defense and we'd see Wlad get pushed around in a competitive matchup. Get a good fighter with excellent footwork, and Wlad would be out danced everytime.

The Bros are the best champs of today. If anybody would study technical aspects, it would be clear who the winner is.

Ali had blazingly fast hands, rock hard chin, heart like a true champ, and footwork like a mad genius. Any one of those aspects would befuddle the Bros. The Bros have okay footwork (Wlad more so than Vitali), okay chins (Vitali more so than Wlad), not as much heart (quit job against Byrd was sickening, Vitali should have stuck it out his sports medicine knowledge got the better of him and played it safe), and their handspeed is okay at best.
