Nope I havn't seen anything other than the results. I hope you're right about Liverpool!!:good I'll take a score-draw in a heartbeat tomorrow night, the away goal would be very nice to take back to Anfield.
For someone who plays himself up as a bit of a joker seems Hatton takes all things Witter a little seriously. Thats a **** poor reason not to fight someone. Does Hatton think he's some kind of Mafia don people should pay homage to?
Nobody's demanding the fight, there's no more money in it than a normal fight, no TV companies really want it and there are bigger fights for Hatton available. Throw into the equation that Witter is a complete twat, then just why would he fight him??
We've heard all the above from Hatton apologists before. If you're going to make a point try & make it an original one.
Dan, instead of being a whiney little *****, put yourself in Hatton's position....would you fight Witter? Of course not. Who in life takes big risks for no gain? It's not a trait found in humans...
The gain for Hatton would be re-establishing himself at 140 by fighting the number 2 in the division. The fight could be sold as a big all British showdown. If Hatton has sold this many tickets for Lazcano do you not think those same people would turn out for a Witter fight?
Doesn't Lazcano just reaffirm that Hatton doesn't need Witter? Hatton can sell 50,000 tickets in 48 hours against somebody nobody in Britain really knows about. He can then headline in America again against Paulie and then rematch Floyd in front of 100,000. I don't blame him for not fighting Witter if all that works out. Wouldn't you do the same??
I think its the fact they will turn out for any Hatton opponent that takes the pressure off Hatton making the fight happen.
I guess it would depend if I was after money or building a legacy. Hatton claims the latter so should fight Witter, the number two in his division. Hatton wants to be mentioned in the same breath as modern greats such as Mosley, DLH & Hopkins. They all took on the main men in their division. Hopkins did so several times before being dethroned & even Calzaghe did eventually. Not the point though is it?
Heeeelllloooo....Hatton fought Tszyu and Mayweather. The main men at 140 and 147, both ranked inside the P4P Top 3 at the time of the fights. Malignaggi and Witter are much the same, neither is more career defining than the other.
It may not be the best for British boxing or 'right' but the point I made is one of the reasons why Hatton can take or leave Witter as he pleases.
Yes but he got completely hammered by Mayweather. Being soundly beaten by great fighters doesn't make you a great fighter. By that reckoning we could say Frans Botha was great. Malignaggi & Witter are not career defining fights but they would form an important of a meaningful legacy in the way Glen Johnson & Antwun Echols do for Hopkins.
