Was surreal, he even put himself in the corner and made me miss, James Toney-esque.

I remember a few years ago, at the national quarters in Liverpool, when I went to the loo after weighing in successfully to see a coach banging on a locked cubicle door saying "c'mon, is it out yet?!" And in reply a young lad shouts "it won't come coach I can't go!" To which he replies "we'll you gotta lose this weight somehow!!" Cracked me up that!

One occasion that sticks out a lot was a few years back during a sparring session which eventually led me to this site.
I'd been having problems with an old head gear (stay away from TITLE). It would rotate after very little contact and its field of view was just terrible.
I decided to spar this kid and help him out.
He'd look good on the pads, bags and while shadow boxing, but would freak out in the ring. He was bigger in all aspects, but I was certain I could control his recklessness.
Everything went perfect the first round. I'd let him land and would keep him away when necessary.
Second round came along. This very cute girl, who frequented the gym, approached my corner. I kept looking at her through the corner of my eye and she'd give off a smile each time. Of course, my ***** took over and I started showing off. I was dancing like I'd never danced before. BAM! BAM!!
A good one-two landed on me. The jab knocking the headgear into my eyes and the straight right finishing the job.
I knew what had happened only after I realized I was on my knees trying to find a rope to hold on to.
My trainer screaming at me and all I could think about was how the girl had been 3 feet away and saw the whole thing.
I played it off as if everything was cool. Everything was not cool :blackeye
Some time later I found and followed a link to ESB regarding Winning headgear and yeah, I never left :!:

Visited a gym today and sparred a guy who's main goal was to **** my body up. My dumbass chose to stay in the pocket and absorb his hooks as I didn't think he could hurt me. It went well for two rounds, but by the third, enough punishment had already accumulated that I had to take a knee :patsch
It's been too long since I've taken this much damange. My shoulders, forearms and right side of my body feel like silly puddy.
