  1. Yes McKnight fought Mesi on ESPN in Buffalo, New York.
mcKnight fought alot of "C" and "D" level fighters, mainly in Tennessee. But he did have George Foreman decline a fight against him!!!

And, yes I live in Georgia.

I saw a notice for free sparring in a local gym. I've had a few school yard scraps and played rugby so I thought it be a good way to spend an afternoon.

Put on the gloves and went 3 rounds with 3 different fellas, not really knowing what the rules were. Didn't realize putting someone in a headlock and punching them wasn't something the Marquis of Queensberry had in mind. "Bloody hell" I thought, "I thought this was supposed to be hard!".

Then they put me in with a ringer. We looked like a before and after picture: a skinny Lebo with arms like stringbeans and a 195 lb rugby player all muscled up from weights. I was grinning like I won the lottery.

About 3 rounds later, the confident rugby player became a disheveled mess of a man, complete with bloody nose and hanging onto the skinny Lebo for dear life. One ringside observer told the rugby player to stop holding and start punching. "HOW???" he said.

Then the room went up and down a few times, and a searing light penetrated his bruised eyes. Rugby player was wondering how he ended up on the canvas, and they told him he got hit with uppercuts (hence the room going up and down) and fell on his arse.

The Lebo and I became good friends after that.

my dentist returned from x-rays telling me that my jaw was severley out of alignment. I laughed asking if he thought that being a retired fighter might have had something to do with it. He laughed too while shaking his head up and down. if your walking the path expect stuff like this.

Haven't been in the sport long enough to have a really amazing story.

My best moment came in sparring. My coach gave me 4 rounds with a guy 20 lbs heavier who I did spar before. He hits pretty hard and prefers to cause damage rather than box slick. For that reason I was a little nervous since I only went 2 rounds at a time with him before that and was sure he would catch me at some point.

First two rounds I moved constantly, bouncing off the ropes, throwing quick long punches keep him off me. Occasionally electing to brawl against the ropes until my coach yelled for me to move my feet. Third round, we were both pretty drained and stuck to exchanging big shots in the center. I did better in that round than the others.

In the fourth, I caught him midway with a straight right to the body that winded him a little. He backed up so I pressed and threw two booming hooks to his ribs that sounded real loud. He backtracked for much of the remaining time while I teed off. in the last 20 neither of us could keep our hands up so we took turns giving left hooks. When we finished I realized everyone had stopped training and were watching us.

Felt good when gym mates and parents told me how good I took a shot and exciting the sparring was.

    Boxed as an amatuer,

one of the training sessions would be one guy in each corner of the ring, when it was your turn you came out and faced the other three one after the other. 1.5mins each guy so 4.5 minute round and they were always fresher then you.

When you could get through three 4.5min rounds you knew you were ready for your next bout.

    Good times!
