BCS8 made the below comment/prediction in regards to how he thinks a thread would go as to who has the better chin. He obviously feels many ESB fans are delusional and biased (and against GGG) toward Jones due to picking Jones as the harder puncher. Lets see how well he knows his stuff.
My vote goes to GGG. Tho his level of competition has been poor overall i think he's showed enough for his chin to be considered very good to potentially better. I don't think Jones had a poor chin by any stretch in his pomp and i reckon all the weight fluctuations, age and years in boxing caught up to him.
Hard to say for sure unless GGG goes up to LHW and takes the best punches from the biggest punchers there, but the benefit of a doubt has to go to GGG since he has taken some very hard punches and barely flinched.
Not the best use of sarcasm. Jones was badly Ko'd twice at light heavyweight. Forget heavyweight. Had Jones fought a Lewis or Klitschko, it could have been more than just a 10 count. Thankfully he didn't.
He was never floored, ever. He take a fine punch, and has not had the need to clinch because he was hurt. Without a doubt one of the best chins ever at 160 pounds. I think we all agree GGG was an all time puncher at 160 too. And he had fine boxing ability. A very rare Trifecta.
I think GG has a chin like Eubank, where he could have taken flush shots from SMW’s, LHW’s and CW’s. I remember seeing that gif where Canelo landed a big right hand, yet he didn’t even move. So even though the thread is just light hearted and not serious, I’d have to pick GG. But the truth is, until something’s happened, nobody knows how things would have played out. Nobody knows what would have happened if Antonio Tarver had landed that same left hand on GG. Maybe he’d have shaken it off and smiled at Tarver, before then going after him. Maybe he’d have been knocked out. It’s anyone’s guess.
