How about this guys' size? Is he really just 5'9? Cuz he looked huge in there against Campbell. Ofcourse, Campbell is a 5'7 natural lightweight, but still.

Roy was blessed with being ambidextrous (like Micky Mantle in baseball).

You do raise an interesting point about the dominant eye, but I think it would be just the opposite; he'd see punches better. The way switch hitters in baseball have been proven scientifically to see the ball better with their dominant eye forward.

No one is born ambidextrous, some people are more inclined to be ambidextrous because of certain brain issues but otherwise it's learned. Just because you box well with both hands doesn't make you ambidextrous either. Look at Nadal, plays tennis left handed but does absolutely everything right handed. People are often good at different things with different hands, but that makes them mix-handed, not truly ambidextrous. Some even argue that there is no such thing as being ambidextrous.

Bizier's got a HEAVY left hook....
its a key punch to break down a slick boxer who hides behind a shoulder/counter punch w/ right
Once he quadrupled up the left hook in one attack, and it faded Campbell

musta got some tippers off of watching SRL break down Mayweather's defense. Only thing Bizier didnt do was looping rights over the shoulder

I haven't the ambiition early on a Sunday morning to check out your claim about being born ambidextrous, dw. But I'm not sure what your conclusion is?

I could train an earnest, athletic, orthodox-boxing kid day in and day out to turn over jabs to multiple hooks to the head 'n body, but it's always mechanical and never as powerful or fluid as one who does it with his dominant hand. Plus, the one who does it with his dominant hand picks it up like a duck to water.

DLH as a prime example. His right was window dressing, like Cotto.

It's just a coordination issue. Often converted fighters lack power with their rear hand because of that lack of coordination through the kinetic chain. It can be trained but when you put all your focus on your strengths and ignore your weaknesses you just learn to compensate in other ways and rely on your strengths, ala Cotto or De La Hoya. Training punches on the non-dominant side is a matter of feel, the student needs to be patient and aware of his body. Often a kid from the start just throws punches for the hell of it and ingrains poor mechanics, that's why it often looks mechanical because biomechanically everything is out of sequence. Get your boxers to shadowbox with their eyes close, throw their left hooks slow and fast, short and long. Teach the boxer to throw a tennis ball with power with his non-dominant hand.. there's a million different ways to train that coordination. That's what a good teacher does, he creates. There's no point telling a kid to hit the heavy bag with his left for half an hour and expect him to improve his coordination. The problem is that boxing coaches say things like 'pivot on your foot', 'turn the punch over', 'raise your elbow' etc. which is absolutely pointless since those are just results from proper punching mechanics and not causes of proper punching mechanics. Kids need to feel and understand the sequence and how one movement leads into the next.

In regards to being ambidextrous yes I believe you can be born ambidextrous when you have developmental issues in your brain and there's too much diffusion. In those cases you're not going to be a good athlete because it's highly likely you're suffering from DCD or some other movement related disorder. Everyone else who claims to be ambidextrous is almost definitely going to be mix-handed or they've practiced constantly doing the same things on both sides, due to the plasticity of the brain both hemispheres have learned to share duties. Even then they'll be stronger with certain hands with certain tasks.

Anybody can look good hitting a stationary target, someone just lying on the ropes not moving.
Especially an old fighter, moving up above his weight class and on very short notice.Bizier has a good left hook for a young fighter.
He is not the 2nd coming of Christ.
    Lets see more.

    Looping over the shoulder.
    You think thats good.
Chances are that you will hit him high on the head and not his chin or jaw.
    And you loose power.
    Its a bad habit.

Cotto 'n DLH worked furiously on their rights, but they never could match the virtuosity 'n power of their lefts.

Would love to hear from someone close to Bizier's team to settle the question.

Looping right hand can be good to land behind the guard of a peek-a-boo style. It is not a habit, it is a type of punch which can be effective.

Looping rt. too easy to slip, block, counter. Also you lose power. If you must use it, be selective. Straight right is the better punch all day long.

Just saying SRL did it very effectively vs Mayweather.... he only did it when he had Mayweather pinned down and hiding, and he'd be strongly angled to the leftside of Mayweather, so there was no position for Mayweather to counter with a straight right effectively

Im sure that extensive beating that Senior got from SRL made him as ******ed as he is now.... and a good few of those were looping rights over the guard shoulder
