pretty much I agree with that. If he disposes Cotto and Williams and then beats Pavlik for the 160 pound title, he is definately top 5 dead or alive

There are different kinds of ability tho, not all boxing is about dancing on your toes, realing off lighting combinations and then covering up. Its also about standing toe to toe, walking through punches and generally pummeling your opponenet into submission, thats an ability and its an efective one ala, Hagler, Monzon and Duran to a large part.

The one thing that stops PBF being right at the tiop on the ATG list is that he STILL has not cleaned out any division, you can harp on and on about ahh well he is the best of teh 4 ABC holders in any divison he is in but thats all specualtioan until he actually beats some of them. Thats what the other ATG's have over him at the very top level of this sport

What do you mean 4 or 5 fights? You have to take a whole carrier into consideration. His best win to date is either Oscar/Castillo. Neither of these fighters are high level ATG's.

None of these fighters that Floyd beat compare to: Duran for Leonard; Hagler/Hearns- Robinson; Foreman, Fraizer and Liston for Ali; the fact that Henry Armstrong held The World Title in 3 differnt weight classes at once.

If Robinson and Armstrong had been around now with all the alphabet crap then they would be more than 5 divison champs.

If he beat Williams and Cotto I would have him at 10ish and then a Middle or clean up at light middle top 3.

By 4 or 5 fights I mean so you have actually seen him fight. Numerous posters on here think that the best way to look like you know about the sport is to say John Sullivan is in your top ten ever heavyweights and Jimmy Wilde is on your p4p top 5 ever.
But there is no footage of any of these fighters. So my point is that if you pick someone ie Henry Armstrong how many fights of his have you watched to see how good he actually was, what the guys he fought looked like as opposed to what some rose tinted historian has said?

And I think Corrales was an outstanding win, particularly the manner in which it occured. He has also beaten other top level fighters with ease like Judah and Hatton.

Who are you listing for Robinson? You made a typo it reads as Hagler and Hearns for Robinson.
Agreed Leonard should be ahead as should Ali really, which is why they are. But if PBF were to take apart Cotto and Williams and another like Mosley then yes he is right in there.

Fair enough, I am not saying anyone who doesn't put him in is totally wrong, but I don't think for a second he has to go up to Middleweight.

I'd say beat Cotto, Williams, move up to beat Pavlik, but that would have to be a catchweight less than 160. I dont think he should have to move up very much. If he wants to be top 3 without having to move up, then I'd say beat Cotto, williams, kermit, and margarito. He needs to actually clean out a division or at least try. He doesnt have to go undefeated to be top 5 all time.

Mayweather fought almost all of the top contenders at 130, and the top guy at 135.

Floyd is already an ATG...the placement is the only thing in question! It is also very subjective to era's, resume', and hypothisized h2h match-ups. Is he better than SRR, SRL, Arguello, JCC, Duran, Ali, RJJ, etc. Icould probably list at least 100 who deserve consideration and validate PBF as well...see it is to subjective...where do you rate him...I will wait untill he is offically done before rendering my verdict! but beating Cotto and unifying the division would certainly cement his claim as the best of the era without question!
