Why would he have to beat all those guys? Did Louis, Ali and Robinson beat everyone they faced? Of course not. They all have a bunch of loses on their records.
Floyd has never had his heart tested? See this is BS man.. You say this because Floyd has seemingly easily beaten all of his opponents, but thats not really true! In the fight with Castillo, he had a REALLY hard time with Castillo during certain parts of the fight, and was forced to stand in and fight with him - and he did! His fight with Emanuel Augustus was a brawl, he had a hard time dealing with the feints of Augustus - but he eventually dealt with this. DeMarcus Corley even hurt him, but Floyd came back in the same round and beat some ass! What if Floyd EASILY beats Cotto? Are you still going to say he's never had his heart tested? Thats crap dude. You get your heart tested when someone is putting a beatin on you but you fight through it to win, or to just beat the odds and not get knocked out. If Floyd beats everyone without this kind of drama, why should this be something WRONG with him instead of something GOOD about him? I never said Baldomir was anything great, I never said Oscar was the best at 154. I didn't say what he did 135-154 was GREAT, but they are still pretty damn good achievements. And Zab is NOT a pushover. Has he had problems with his career? Sure. But when he is ON, he is a fast and dangerous fighter, very skilled. Even when he was not on, he was still dangerous, easily takin advantage of Cotto's opponenings and landing HUGE punches on him for example, though Cotto was able to pick him apart after that. The night Zab fought Mayweather, he was on.. but Mayweather completely demolished him. And you seem to have forotten, that JUST LIKE PEOPLE are saying about Cotto now, "Floyd just has to fight this one fight and I will give him credit. He's never been tested, but THIS guy will test him!", people have been saying that his ENTIRE CAREER. They even said it about GATTI. But also said it about Baldomir, Oscar, and Hatton. On this very board MANY MANY MANY people as is still evient by the number of people STILL bitching about Hatton losing, said that Hatton was going to completely kill Floyd - but Floyd handled him easily. Many of your reasons why Floyd is not great are because of things like the way he acts on camera sometime. to me this just proves that you are biased against Floyd as a fighter because of how he acts. And you're still not answering my question, I said "What if Floyd did..." and alll you had to say was "But he didn't" I think most anyone would agree that Floyd would have beaten those guys. So basically what happens is, Floyd does VERY well at 130, beating TOP guys like Genaro Hernandez and Diego Corrales... and takes on plenty of dangerous contenders (Angel Manfredy for example was considered very dangerous when he fought Floyd, and Diego was flat out SCARY at 130, having so much knock out power!), and goes up in weight MANY times in search of bigger fights. HE's not fighting pushovers, he's fighting legit guys, even if they aren't number one contenders like Cotto. But we forget, Baldomir is a legit champion, Zab was the guy that he just beat, Castillo was a legit champion, Hatton was a legit champion (hell people still claim he's the man at 140!!), and Oscar is still a very good fighter who many peoplle though would beat Floyd, and had plenty of physical advantages over Floyd. Some people just don't want to like Floyd.. Personally, I'm not even a fan of Floyd. I hate the way he acts. BUT, I have boxed, and I understand the sport of boxing. IF you are like me in this regard, it is impossible to deny how INCREDIBLY skilled and talented Floyd is. He is SO DAMN GOOD. He is an AMAZING blend of old school technique, with the talent, athleticism, and dedication to pull it off, combined with AMAZING ring smarts and a feel for boxing that allows him to do ridiculous things like lead with and LAND straight rights and left hooks at WILL when he tries. And hell when he WANTS to he can even sit there and just out jab opponents. He's INSANELY versatile. He can win most fights with his own style, but when that doesn't work he'll go to a COMPLETELY different game plan, and win that way (see the Judah fight. If you don't see the amazing **** going on here, then you don't know **** about boxing, and shouldn't be bashing Floyd). The guy is just flat out amazing. He has the talent and skill that even after his physicaly advantages leave him, he could keep on going and winning for YEARS after that just like fat old James Toney. He's just amazing. I believe a lot of us think it, but don't say it because it sounds like a real dick thing to say, but I'll ****ing say it: If you don't think Floyd is the best there is right now, and give him his due, you simply just don't know that much about boxing.
One could choose any ATG fighter in history and that person could dismantle that fighters record easily by digging stupid stuff about their opponents. No matter how great that fighter is. Joe Louis? Mohammad Ali? Sugar Ray Robinson? All their records could be criticized the way you just criticized Floyd's record. Wake up and open your eyes.
