For how long should Mayweather be considered p4p No.1 if he only keeps on fighting...

Not more impressive than schooling the unbeaten Bute ( a big SMW who comes in at 184 lbs on the night), for example, especially since, because of styles, it would be harder to school Bute than Pavlik.

A Bute win at 168 is still better than DLH and Hatton!:rofl

But you have to remember, when P4P lists are made, they're made by fat yanks with tunnel vision.

A win over Pavlik to them is worth ten times more than a win over Bute.

It is the only reasonable conclusion; if Pac had KOed JMM or KDed him a couple of times, he would be p4p No.1; if JMM had not been KD'ed at all, and had not supported himself on that rope at the end of the third, he'd be p4p No.1. If Mayweather had fought and beaten Cotto, he'd be p4p No.1...but, as things stand....

Bute would be there for the whole fight, would lose the early rounds and then start winning a few on clean counter punching, then would lose the late rounds.

9-3 Calzaghe, but against the very best Bute, otherwise the Bute that fought Bika and Berrio could lose 12-0 even.

Now, Pavlik and Taylor lose EVERY round to Calzaghe and both get stopped in the process. Pavlik in 5 because of his frail chin and Taylor late on accumulation.:good

I don't care about that...this discussion is what WE think, not what the US boxing establishment or anyone else for that matter thinks.

But we have a more educated system going on here. Clearly at above 160, Bute is a better fighter than Pavlik, who above 160 almost lost to Jermain taylor.

Agree or disagree? These are the fighters, I believe, are performing at a higher level at their respective weight classes than Mayweather is.

    Calzaghe at 168
    Mijares at 115
    Guzman at 130
    Cotto at 147
    Kessler at 168
    Dawson at 175

    I see.

But I guarantee if Calzaghe beats (the legend) Hopkins, (the unbeaten) Pavlik and (the golden boy) Dawson.....Ring, HBO etc will have him P4P#1 and a lot of americans will be forced to say it.

And when they mention his big wins, almost everybody would list Pavlik as a more impressive win than Bute if he was to beat them both.

No doubt...who the hell is Bute; he is still untested against a Top 6 SMW.

What a turn around this whole thing is, especially if he actually got to P4P #1 universally.

Despised so called cowardly euro-trash fighter turning into the P4P #1 at age 36........:rofl

Not saying it's necessarily going to happen, but it could. I just have to pause and say 'show's what the **** they knew'.:yep

The fact that he's a universal P4P top 5 is enough to just laugh and at age 36 no less, declined.

Did you miss the long drawn out battles with Bigtime9?

I am irritated to say the least with DLH fight. I have heard all the reasons for not fighting Cotto, and even some valid issues with Arum. I would give Mayweather more respect if he tried to come to terms with fighting Cotto and Arum turned him down, than for him to lie to my face about Cotto needing to prove more.

That picture was taken 25 minutes ago with our very nice camera (problem is, ESB can't support the image quality unless its from the internet for some reason). I decided to stay with the same theme for better or worse (most members don't care, some get pissy about it) since it seems to be my calling card. Besides, I like looking at her.

You're damn right my man and the thing is, a lot of these guys they have been beating are either underrated or simply not known as much as BIG MONEY opponents that some of these greedy fighters take on.

BIG MONEY = Risk reward bliss.

Hell, Mayweather fighting Quintana is even more a challenge than DLH or Ricky Hatton, a guy Cotto ****ing blew out in 5 rounds and at this point, I could easily see Quintana taking about 4 rounds from him, losing clearly but looking decent in the process.

Mijares is about to unify some titles.

Kessler's not doing **** yet, maybe take him off the list unless you're counting his impressive run pre-Calzaghe and then giving Supernatural Joe a run for his money.

Guzman is a H2H demon that knocked off the #4 guy in the division in schooling fashion.

Cotto - Blowing out Quintana, torturing Judah, beating Mosely. Defo done more than Joy Boy.

Dawson - Bit of a question mark, but is steadily moving through top competition in dominating form.

    Joe Calzaghe - :yep

    ...................

Plus, H2H, all of these beat Floyd if we go by the route of 'molding them to the preferred weight class', because, Joy Boy's past his prime and sliding and that pot shotting **** is going to get him brutalised versus a Cotto type fighter.
