what is this a group therapy thread..how lame. you pussies are crying on each others shoulder's about how "bad" floyd is for boxing. face it he is the best in the biz hands down. has been universally recognized as the p4p #1 fighter since june 2005.

nothing a bunch of euro trash racists says can change that fact. :hi:

He looks pretty fluid out there to me. And Baldo was the only guy at WW who he beat by pot shotting.

It's funny how defensive you get.

    Clearly a sign of immaturity.

He doesn't throw anywhere near the combos at 147 that he did at 130 and 135, or even 140.

He pot shots quite a bit. He did against DLH, Baldomir and a bit against Hatton and Judah, though they were more 2 shots at a time. He didn't move around the ring as much, but he wasn't throwin 3-4 punch combos like he did at 130-140.

The Floyd at 130 was phenominal and EXTREMELY exciting. The best ever at that weight.

That guy is long gone though.

DLH wasn't at WW, so we'll throw that out, and I already said he pot shotted Baldo. He was not pot shotting against Hatton. He was throwing hard straight rights and left hooks for most of the fight. He didn't throw alot of combos, but he wasn't pot shotting either.

The real question though, who replaces him? We can't realistically say Manny, JMM, Cotto, Calzaghe, Hopkins, Vasquez, Hatton, or any fighter currently regardless of their recent resume is P4P better than Floyd. Until he loses or clearly demonstrates a drop in his level of execution, I think he's still #1...

I'm gonna keep the DLH fight because Maweather was what, 148 for that fight? Close enough, though technically not 147. For me, its not about how big the opponent was entirely, but what the extra weight seems to have done to him. IMO it makes him less fluid.

We have different definitions of pot shotting. Throwing a straight right then moving aways is a pot shot to me. Throwing one punch at a time and resetting is a pot shot IMO. Like I said, he threw some 2 punch combos, but he is not the same fluid moving fighter he was at the lower weights.

The DLH was a JMW fight, not a WW fight. Even if Floyd was 148 on fight night, DLH was over 160.

Many HW's throw 1 or 2 punches at a time, that doesn't mean they're potshotting. Potshotters throw one shot at a time without much power behind it. They're simply looking to score, not inlfict damage on their opponent. You can watch that fight against Hatton and tell Floyd had bad intentions behind those punches. Potshots don't buckle a guy's knees as was the case with Hatton. Potshots also don't knock guys out.

Like I said, we have different definitions of pot shotting. HW's throw one punch at a time to set up harder punches. I consider what Jones Jr used to do and what Mayweather does now, one punch at a time hard shots or not, pot shotting.

It doesn't matter that the DLH fight was at 154. I said I wished that he had stayed at 140 and below because he was more fluid. I only mentioned WW in specific because that's where the majority of his fights have been at since he left 140. Obviously at 154, he would be even worse. So that fight counts IMO. Also, Baldomir was over 160 for their WW fight too....like I said, the issue isn't the other fighter alone, but the weight Mayweather is carrying.
