Since the Brewster loss in 2004, Wlad has won 12 fight in a row. Six of those 12 fighters were un-defeated fighters. In these 12 fight, Wlad maybe lost, 4-5 rounds. Sooner or later, Ring Magazine is going to have to seriously consider giving Wlad a pound for pound spot. I think Wlad is in his prime right now, and since he stays in shape outside of his scheduled fights, he should be good for another 3-4 years. If by chance someone scores an upset, Wlad is still young enough to come back to the top.
no one is saying chambers is a bad fighter. but u can't deny haye and povetkin are both better. this thread is saying wladimir is dominating. dominating what. the top 3 are: 1) vitali 2) haye 3) povetkin he hasn't beaten any of em. :nono he beat a guy he was outweighing by 40 ibs and 5 or 6 inches in height. chambers isn't a puncher. i'm trying to remember the last time wladimir even fought a puncher. :huh
As Gander said: "The HW division is so ****ing terrible, it's embarassing". The issue is not about american fat pussies, its about the poor health of the heavyweight division. Wlad is a boring fighter and champ during the worst period ever for heavy weights.
Come on now. A 209lb guy who isn't even clean cut muscle with less than 50% ko ratio is hardly going to trouble Wlads whiskers is he?
2 of wlads losses have came against guys about 220lbs,hardly a big difference of weight now is it,i think a peter rematch would have been a far better fight last night,im just glad i didnt pay to see it and found a live stream
Frankly, the poor health of the division is very overblown at this point on account of how bad the Klitschko's make everyone else look. People just seem to be content to keep bitching because they don't like seeing the fighters with all the advantages continue to dominate. As far as quality goes, Heavyweight right now is significantly better than both Cruiserweight and Light heavyweight by whatever standard you want to use- quality at the top, contenders, and prospects. It's not the best division in the sport by any means, but it never is anyways. The point is it's far from the worst, but people just seem caught up in not ad******g their opinions from what it was 5-6 years ago.
I know where you're at BBB but it's the little things that make the difference. Sanders and Brewster came in at 225, combine this with the fact Sanders ko% was 70% and Brewster was over 80%. Chambers had 50% ko and weighed a full 16lbs less. Wlad has also improved his defense since then ten fold. I can't see a guy under 210 putting a dent in Wlad today. As for the live stream, you and me both mate.:good
For about two or three years then he retires. I see his brother retiring before he does in a year or so.
I love how because "russians" are dominating the HW division the americans think it's the worse division ever. I guess Tyson and Holmes beat 2-3 ATG in their prime.
I spoke with the Klitschko's only surviving sparring partner on any full time basis who is also a HW contender and he told me, the Klitschko's are the best current HW's on the planet. Although Vitali is nearing retirement, no one will beat Wlad for the next three years or so. Now that's a professional opinion not some pom pom waving cheerleader with eel breath from the peanut gallery :hat
And remember the east euros were not around then, or at least untill the wall came down in 1990, funny how in under 10 years since they were allowed to compete, they have taken over the HW scene, man germany is full of decent east euro heavys, some of the gyms there are packed with them
