For me, Maidaina would suit Khans style...

I dont know why people are saying its a bad fight for Khan, if Maidaina is constantly after Khan throwing punches, wont Khan be able to capitalise?

Look at the 8th round against Kotelnik how he was bobbing and weaving, if he had those reflexes against Maidaina he could capitalize and catch Maidaina with combinations, he didnt get to land clean against Kotelnik that much but think about it, if Khans on the back foot while Maidaina rushes in with bombs, isnt he gonna be able to spoil and avoid then come back with head shots and combinations? if Khan kept dodging then throwing, busting up Maidaine, the ref would eventually step in because of the amount of clean shots Khans landing right?

I really think as dangerous as it is with Khans suspect punch resistence, that he would be able to capitalise on the constant 'come forward' style of Maidaina, Unless Maidaina landed a big hook and floored Khan i quite possibly think Khan could score a TKO based on too many clean shots landing.

    My opinion anyway.

But evan in the 2nd round AK straffed Khan with 2 good right hands. If that had been someone with more pop that Kotelnik they could have been dangerous. It only takes 1 shot and Maidana looks to have good power. Khan is still a work in progress and they wont risk him against a power puncher just yet he can make a few defences of his world title while choosing another opponent im betting in that Paulie M gets past Diaz (not that i think he will) then Khan would be in there with him next

Maidana gets so much power and reach into his punches - I just cannot see Khan staying away from him for the entire fight, I mean Kotelnik caught him a few times and Maidana would be going for it a lot more than Kotelnik did. Maidana only needs to land one punch...

    Maidana by stoppage.

As Kos said, Maidana isn't just going to stand there and be content to soak up shots on his arms and wait for openings.

Nor is he going to be put off by those pitty pat flurries.

Khan could well be 110-99 up on the cards going into the 12th, Maidana isn't a particularly good boxer, but he is game and can obviously punch.

Punchers = Kryptonite for little Amir.

Maidana is the most over rated fighter on ESB British forum at the moment.

he scraped a draw with Kotelnik!!!!!!

Styles make fights. Prescott is terribly basic, but he looked like a world beater against Khan.

I would say he is a good style for Khan as well. The thing is Maidana has a good reach and stamina and puts a lot on to every punch. Stylistically i think Khan should have an easy fight the fights i have seen Maidana in he is always there to be hit and isn't too good with closing the ring off or timing his punches. Although with his stamina and always coming forward he could wear Khan down and catch him late on.

name me 3 good Maidana wins. he beat a guy in Ortiz who came out with the worst game place of all time, and did not have the stomach for a fight. He has a KO voctory over a guy that also got knocked out by Junior Witter and Torres.

He drew with Kotelnik who was completley shut out by Khan, and he still got knocked down agaisnt Ortiz a few times.

the guy is so over rated its unreal.

He doesn't have 3 good wins, in fact he lost a split to Kotelnik.

However, he brings a fearsome knockout record and proved that power against a world class opponent.

    Heres my views

Maidana has a huge punch but limited skill and is the definition of a brawler. He has great stamina and puts power into every shot and is swinging bombs till the final bell.

Khan dosent have the best of chins but has a good defence when he works his gameplan right. Maidana will be alot busier than Kotelnick and have 'danger' written on every punch for Amir and you cant walk through a shower without getting wet can you?

Also the 11th (i think) Kotelnick let Khan throw his flurry then started to trade with him Khan stood and traded with him instead of moving. Khan likes a fight to much or is too willing to trade through inexperiance. I think Maidana could lure him into a trade and KO him.

Maidaina would only need to land one clean shot on Khan. Kahn's a hyped up no body.

maidana would win by mid-round KO could see khan doing well early, and then maidana over-powers the featherfisted khan in the mid-rounds...

unlike ortiz who could hurt maidana, i really do think khan is quite featherfisted at 140.....

There is a reason why roach has said they will most likely drop the belt, in order to avoid maidana.....maidana is all wrong for khan....

Maidana has not got the best of chins himself, That's why Ortiz knocked him down 3 times in the first 2 rounds, Maidana was lucky after the 3rd KD because he was saved by the bell.

Maidana would be a high risk low reward fight for Khan, he should rather go after Alexander for his WBC belt and then go for Bradley for his WBO belt. Bradley fight is also a very hard fight but its another world title and for me Bradley's the best 140 fighter bar Pacman.

I find it funny people calling Khan feather fisted at 140 because he could not hurt or KD or KO Kotelnik but that must mean Maidana and Witter are also feather fisted.

Nope, it's because he doesn't sitdown on his punches even against a plodding fighter; Kotelnik had a good guard but Khan is too scared to set his feet and rightly so; substituting power for safety is what he needs to do.
