For me, Maidaina would suit Khans style...

Yep thats right, Roach said after the fight Khan showed a bit too much respect to Kotelnik and at times should traded a bit more, but i guess with time he will find the right balance of planting and moving.

But Khan did show that he can follow a gameplan right down to the letter, and that must of impressed Roach.

 

Of course. But you said something like 'Maidana and Witter must not be big punchers either', implying that Khan CAN puncha t 140.

I would say that he can't.

 

Anyone who can really punch will brutalise Khan.

 

No i ment if Witter or Maidana could not hurt Kotelnik what chance did Khan have? So they just used their brain and did not try to KO him and went for the points, smart move.

I would favour Khan in this fight largely because he's been moulded into a technically very disciplined boxer by Roach, and could quite easily capitalise on the manifold blunders Maidana makes. That said, there are a number of intangibles:

1) Khan did not fight very well when he had to go back against Kotelnik, and, whilst his guard is fundamentally solid, he looked a bit unsteady defensively. If Maidana backs him up, he could be in trouble.

2) We don't really know what Khan's power is like at 140. If he can't take advantage of Maidana's mistakes and gain his respect with hard shots, he could just get walked down and busted up.

Overall, I'd pick Khan to stop Maidana or take a UD, depending on how wild Maidana is and the power Khan produces. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get clipped and get put to sleep, though.
