I didn't have anything in particular to say about him other than it's a little saddening to see him being talked about in the classic forum. Not only does it make me miss him as a fighter but it makes me feel old. Maybe we can keep this thread in circulation by each of us sharing a Tyson memory.

I'll start. Mike telling Jim Lampley following the Alex Stewart fight straight up that it was his last fight with HBO. Brutally honest and never one to mince words...Iron Mike. :ahhhh :bat1

Saying he wanted to eat Lennox Lewis's children despite Lennox not having any kids always sticks in my mind. I think he finished his rant with 'Praise be to Allah'. Good lad Mike (apart from the **** and road rage).

Tyson was like a gasoline fire, blazing but short -lived. By the time D'amato and Jacobs were dead he seemed lost, and his career took the downward spiral. Up until then he was pretty awesome.

He didnt **** anyone. The girl has cried **** before and then confessed it to be a lie and quite frankly, if you barely know the guy and your at his apartment at 3.00am in the morning knowing exactly what he was about, then you really have alot of explaining to do. Public just saw big bad black man and thought ******.

You are correct, I read a couple books on Tyson, but my favorite is the one Jose Torres did on him a while back. Tyson has an extreme rage in and out of the ring, as well as in the bedroom. Dezerea Washington is a nasty slut that just wanted to tell all her friends she made it with the baddest man on the planet, she thought she was going to get a teddy bear in bedroom, too her surprise that wasnt the case. Tyson was having sex with her, and get a little rough with her, she might of said stop, she might not have, in any event she felt like **** after being brutally banged, and decided to press charges at that point.

I think Tyson said it best in an interview, when asked about the ****, "I never raped that slimey *****, but now I wish I would have"

She took 3 and half good years away from Mike's career, if it wasnt for her, we probably would of seen Tyson fight Holyfield in 92 instead of 96, Tyson would of probably beat Holyfield at that time IMO. That dumb slut changed history, I wish nothing but the worst for her.

I'm not defending Mike for his wrong doings, he was, is and always be just human...however the saddest thing about Mike is how the world loved him when he was on top and he seemed to be forsaken (not by all) when we was not on top anymore. As we get older we see that the world can be very harsh and the people that live in it can very cruel. That is life. I miss the old Mike too, but I still love Mike for what he is and always will be. Thank you Mike for what you gave us (boxing).

Jesse Jackson once said "Never look down on anybody unless you're helping them up."

Whether a Tyson fan or not, in my opinion, if you are just a big fan of boxing, then to some degree, you must miss Tyson, because Mike was excitement & in a way, changed boxing.

When Tyson was a contender, champion & in his prime, he made the general sports fans, rather than just boxing fans, watch his bouts. Everyone tuned in for Prime Tyson bouts.

How the HW division could do with a fighter like a young Tyson coming up thrpugh the ranks. Can you imagine Tyson coming up in today's HW division.

I actually think other fighters would want no part of Tyson as one of Mike's sparring partners put it after sparring/training with Tyson for a few days.

Back in the day, Tyson lived for boxing. When he was with Rooney, training & preparation for a bout was always meticulous & hard. The way it should be. No slacking in training or moaning about anything.

Rooney was the boss when it came to training. As a pro, Rooney was the only trainer who Mike respected 100%. Tyson knew Rooney would have no ****.

Still think Tyson would make a brilliant trainer. He has the knowledge & has been there, seen it, done it, got the t-shirt, etc.

  14. He had a good run form 86, 89, then after Douglas KO'D him in a fight i was glad he LOST, because Douglas lost his Mom, and then the **** deal, the Road rage thing in which he beat up an old man, the Ear biting, starting fight's for no reason at press confrences, then getting popped for Cocaine, now he's broke, i don't feel sorry for him he made his own bed with stupid decisions so suffer the consequences:verysad
He wasn't even the best fighter of his Generation, it was Lewis or Holyfield, both of whom Knocked his ass out...
