    Great Mike quote;

"I was gonna rip his heart out. I'm the best ever. I'm the most brutal and vicious, the most ruthless champion there has ever been. No one can stop me. Lennox is a conqueror? No! He's no Alexander! I'm Alexander! I'm the best ever. I'm Sonny Liston. I'm Jack Dempsey. There's never been anyone like me. I'm from their cloth. There is no one who can match me. My style is impetuous, my defense is impregnable, and I'm just ferocious. I want his heart! I want to eat his children! Praise be to Allah!"

    YOU GOTTA LOVE HIM!!!

I used to be fascinated by Tyson like a lot of people.

Now he has been discussed too much.

He bores me - that is what I find sad.

But not that sad - he had his time in the sun.

  3. Desiree Washington didn't put Tyson in Prison, Tyson put himself in Prison with his own stupidity, not to mention his own inept Attorney, the State of Indiana and Greg Garrison..

Desiree Washington wasn't aware of the groupie phenomenon apparently. Once you're finished that's it, you say get the **** out of my room. Washington was naive in that sense and I'm sure she felt absolutely terrible so I could easily see her convincing herself that Mike raped her because the sex was so cold and brutal. On a Mike Tyson documentary, Tyson's former driver Rudy said that when watching the first news of the **** on TV Tyson said to him "I should have walked her to the limo." Tyson was railroaded and the system used him as an example. He had NO chance of winning his case.

he's been there for a while though. Its amazing how lots of boxers have 20+ years careers considering how brutal the sport is. You can't say the same thing about lots of other sports.

  6. DITTO-He gets discussed way to much:-( why are so many people obsessed with this guy???:huh
**** there are a helluve lot better fighters than him, that didn't act like idiots and wern't convicted felons..

People are obsessed with him because he produced excitement really never seen before in the HW division. His talent and skill was incredible. Why do you think he's the most popular fighter in history, alongside Ali? There's never been anyone like him, never will be. He was a flawless fighter in his prime and he's an interesting character to boot. Look how boring the HW division became after Tyson went south. Now no one watches it.

Couldnt have said it better myself, but to add to that. Both the Danny Williams and the Mcbride fight, the bar and hooters was packed with people to see that fight, only the DLH/Mayweather fight generated more popularity around my area, anytime Tyson fights it's not a just a boxing match, it's an event.

i gotta go home 2 my children...whatever he said after holy bitnite incident

  10. Everybody has their own thoughts and opinions, i personally along with a lot of others believed Evander Holyfield, produced more excitement and better fights than Tyson, AND was also a better skilled, more talented fighter, obviously he whipped Tyson both times they fought, Holy fought tougher battles against stronger competition and was way more a class act, and his Heart and fighting spirit was more than Tyson can ever hope for..
Not many people follow Heavyweight boxing anymore because it is ruled by Eastern Soviet Bloc fighters, they just train and fight, not commit Felonies, **** and beat up people, and end up locked up for other stupid ****, also Pro boxing is not on free Tv anymore, and American kids are more into football and basketball, not boxing, and the popularity of MMA, and UFC, Boxing is definitly not what is used to be..

I usually agree with most of your posts, but in my honest opinion and a good majority of other posters would agree, the excitement of the division left when Tyson did, he was enertaining in and out of the ring, and noone, not even Ali can sell a fight like Tyson could. There is just something about the guy that makes people watch, you dont get that with these fighters nowadays, there boring to listen to, and hardly enertaining to watch, aside from a few a few I try to follow.

As far as the whole eastern block fighter thing, I really dont think thats the case on why people dont watch the Heavyweights anymore in America, a little over 2 years ago it was all American fighters, Ruiz-WBA, Rahman-WBC, Brewster-WBO, Bryd-IBF, still the division was just as unpopular as it is today, guys like Merchant and Bernstein were still making fun of the state of the division, remember when Larry cried out during a telecast "Joe louis where are you", it was either during a Ruiz or Bryd fight.

PPV was around in the 90s, it didnt stop people from knowing who the champ was, and Heavyweight division was very popular, because the fighters had not only talent, but enertaining personalities as well, something this generation of Heavyweights are lacking in both departments as a whole. No offense to Sam Peter the number 2 guy, he's my favorite fighter currently, but he still hasnt mastered the basic skills of boxing, and seems to come in fat and out of shape half the time, you have the number 1 fighter in the division Wlad, who looks like scared to get hit, and when he does, he goes into a panic attack and gets bounced all over ring like Wilson Basketball. No wonder why noone watches the Heavyweight division anymore, there boring and weak compared to the previous decade.

  12. Yes i like Peter he is my FAV Heavyweight today, but he's gotta lose some weight, and refine his boxing skills and get his head on straight, he should hire Roach or Manny Steward but that would interfere with Wlad, Stewards no 1 project, Wlad is NOT the answer, he's too afraid to get hit, has a **** chin, and his last fight with IGGY stunk out the joint like raw tuna fish:-( **** i've seen ping pong games more exciting than that B.S:verysad
I wish along with many others for someday in the not to distant future for an entertaing guy to come along and clean up the division but im not holding my breath..:patsch

tyson to me is the greatest fighter i ever saw, (i never got to see ali) but to me tyson was something else, an absolute animal, outside of the ring everyone has there flaws, hes a character thats for sure, and if people didnt love that fact he wouldnt be talked about still to this very day.....
hes a legend they dont come around very often, im just disappointed i never got to go see one of his fights live, if it was now i would still jump at the chance i dont care how old or against who its the thought of my favourite fighter ever being in the ring again....
