I had a quick glance pacfan. Mostly to see if I could find some obvious stupidity in your list. I didn't. I guess that is a good sign. But have to say that I only glanced.

Had another glance looking for specific fighters that some biased people tend to over- or underrate. But still didnt find anything.

Regarding Monzon, I fully agree with you and one should be amazed at how little support he got and had to travel the world with his belt and he still beat all the local stars away from home.

Contrast that with how current boxers are protected in their home country.

Unlike lists like this done by Bert Sugar or The Ring, no one here really stands out as way too high or too low.

Yep. His list is very good. I feel PBF & Jones Jr. are too low, but thats only my opinion. His list is very good

its very hard to do one of these, i stay away from p4p lists because, Tyson was totally dominant when he peaked, Marciano and Calzaghe never lost, Jimmy Wilde beat heavy weights at 10 stone, i don't understand how people do it.

but its your opinion and its a nice effort.

Solid top 4. Id have Louis, Gans, Wilde and Kid Lewis a lot higher. But you've prettymuch included everyone i would include (with the exception of mayweather)

  12. personal opinions pacfan - ali is way too high, and is vastly overrated. That and the fact he is a P.O.S. human as well counts against him.

Wilde @ 31? I've always seem him as a 11-15 consistent guy... Little surprised at how low he is.

The monzon point has already been discussed - at length, so i'll leave that.

I just also feel you're giving Jones too much leeway - yes he was good, but his comp wasnt ALWAYS the best (no fighter is - granted), and there are the steroid allegations (it's not counted against him - it leaves a black mark though, it's very dodgy the more i read into it). (I also apply this same mark to Holyfield and all others involved). I also think - just because other fighters didnt look as "pretty" and awe inspiring as jones - doesnt mean they're not just as good h2h. Tyson looked fantastic in his prime - and was considered almost unbeatable - yet I think you'd agree with me that Lewis h2h was likely the better fighter.

Great list and attempt though - props :)

call me a fanboy but i honestly think mike tyson is one of the best 50 boxers ever, i really do.
good point about steroids too, its a sad indictment of the sport that possibly the worst offence an athlete can commit is so often over-looked.

horse****. theres legal, then theres illegal. anyone doing the latter is a ****in cheat in my opinion, and im surprised everyone doesnt feel the same way. i dont get this american tolerence to steroid use at all.
i rememebr one fool on here saying jones's only crime was to get caught. what a fantastic attitude.
