I disagree with your points on Ali, Monzon, Leonard and Jones (Ali and Leonard especially), but I seem to be in the minority regarding their placings so fair enough comment mate.

Again, I am comfortable with my placings of the other four - maybe Spinks deserves to be higher in hindsight though.

Tiger Flowers, Miguel Canto and Duilio Loi have as much right to be in there as anyone, they are possible oversights on my part. Had I included those three would people be mentioning another three that I had and saying they were oversights? Probably. It's the nature of the beast. But those are three good additions mate, cheers. I had to think long and hard before I dropped Loi from the list. Perhaps I was wrong there.

Sorry but Benitez, Locche and Cervantes are not top 50 material IMO.

Thank you very much for all your comments, great avatar by the way. :good

You're welcome. If the time every arrives where I sit down for a top 50 of my own, yours is sure to be a model.

This is true. When Moore would go up to 190-200lbs, he often would have his next fight at about 185 or so instead of going right back to 175 and I doubt that most of his weight fluctuations were adding and removing pure muscle like Jones. I was just commenting on the size difference between Moore and Jones, I don't think Moore was all that bigger. They bulked up in weight and dropped the weight differently and that is what matters in the comparison, but Moore wasn't really any bigger IMO.

Cool. I do think that as Moore fought regularly for years between 175 and 200 whereas Jones only did so once, this points to Moore being a bigger man, or at least more comfortable at a bigger size, but you may be right in saying Moore was not naturally any bigger.

The Young Corbetts are pretty overlooked here.

I wouldn't call any of those oversights, particularly the last few. Cervantes might make my top 100, not a chance at top 50.

The Young Corbetts are two fighters I've been aware of for some time but have never gotten down to doing any substantial research on, despite their very impressive records (particularly that of Corbett III).

Fair enough. I rate both ahead of the Rock but am really impressed by his unblemished record and pure dominance of his day. CP ages back posted a list of his achievements, how many top 10 contenders he ko'ed etc and it was mind boggling stuff when laid out like that. It was truly special stuff.

I'm big on his too rest assured. To be honest it's good to see him get such strong recognition.

It could also be a good selling point and trivia for your list having him in the closely scrutinised upper 10. Being able to recite enough of his achievements and abilities strongly and off by heart can make your list stand out for all the good reasons - people enquiring will feel both enlightened and impressed.

Thinking back this could make for a strongpoint. Interesting.
