Calzaghe didn't beat two American legends. He beat one great fighter in Hopkins (but I still think it was an unimpressive performance, much like Mayweather v Oscar. A "big" win in terms of the name, but not a good display. Plus Hopkins was past-prime, it doesn't mean as much as it would have had Cal beat him 2001-2004), and the corpse of Roy Jones, which I rate lower than his wins over Eubank, Lacy and maybe even Mitchell.

Calzaghe might make it into my top 100, but he comes absolutely nowhere near this 50.

I am 100% confident that Hopkins above Hagler is the correct decision, no doubt in my mind. Looking at their whole careers, accomplishments, skills etc, Hopkins is a "close but clear" winner for me.

A fair response from you too, but note that the writing on Greb that people such as myself base our opinions on is not a few fight reports from Greb's hometown press, it is a range of sources both primary and secondary which does give a far clearer picture.

Yeah, I wrote the 168 RJJ, meaning the 168 version of him.

Calzaghe was indeed #1 on my provisional list, but then I remembered I wasn't China_Hand_Joe or Pugilist64, sobered up, and booted that Welshman out of consideration :good

Brilliant list, although I think that Monzon is a wee bit too high and Roy may be a touch too high but not much.

But i'll be ****ed if I could do any better!

I can tell from your avatar that you won't judge me too harshly for perhaps rating Roy a bit too high. I just think the guy was nothing short of phenomenal 1993-2003, a truly great and special fighter.

    My sig is better, :yep.

Roy Jones is by far and away my favorite fighter and I agree he was special, personally he was the most talented figher that i have ever seen.

I would not judge that list harshly at all regardless even if Roy was at 35. I'd just say he was low :D

Well, what exactly is the argument for having Marciano above Hopkins, other than the zero?

I suppose most people would have Larry Holmes on the list, but his winning resume lacks a bit for me.ken Norton,Earnie Shavers an overrated Gerry Cooney, inexperienced Tim Witherspoon,19-8 Mike Weaver,Leon Spinks, well past his prime Muhammed Ali,Trevor Berbick,Carl Williams.Good, but Hardly mind blowing resume.
