Depends on what you want. Vitali is superior at defense and counterpunching over Wlad. Part of that is because he's not particularly afraid of getting hit and Wlad is more concerned about it.

Wlad sits down on his punches more than Vitali does, and seems to have more natural power than Vitali does (at least after Vitali's various injuries).

Don't think Vitali can't box, though. Ask Arreola about that. Vitali has an excellent skill set, he and Wlad just fight different ways.

Vitali developed style that works for him and for him alone. He seems unorthodox but so were many greats. Wlad is more of a textbook fighter. In the terms of sweet science Vitali is more skilled.

Im actually very surprised on how close this poll remains.
Really thought Wlad would win it by a landslide.

Glad a lot of people actually see how skilled Vitali is.

I personally don't believe for one second that Lewis that Vitali fought would have beaten Wlad in 2rds like some here say. Wlad has a better faster, stronger Jab, a quick powerful speedy left hook & if he hit Lewis w/them right hands like Vitali did Lewis would've been sleep!!

Vitali is definitely tougher, grittier & mentally tougher but Wlad is definitely the more skilled of the two.

    ugh, newbies...

Wlad is the more skilled boxer. He has more in his arsenal, he is more fluid, has better movement, defense, is stronger, punches harder, ect...

With that said, Vitali is the better fighter. He is tougher, meaner, has killer instinct, he knows how to hurt his opponent and get them out of there. He also can adjust in the ring to his opponent. Vitali, however, is underrated when it comes to defense, he is very intelligent and uses his height/reach as defense while applying his offense, unlike Wlad who has to use distance and clinching as defense, separate from his offense. Vitali also has a granite chin and doesn't mind getting hit...idk, maybe Vitali is more skilled lol...

H2H I'd pick Vitali everytime, but in terms of technical boxing skills, Wlad is the more skilled of the two...

Wlad has perfect textbook technique. Stance, movement, punches, etc..

Vitali is the tougher guy, but not "skilled" like Wlad.

    Good example:

When Wlad gets hit his reaction is to stop the other guys momentum, recover and then take control of the action.

When Vitali gets hit, his reaction is to exchange.

Wlad is an architect. Vitali is a wrecking ball.

I personally think Wlad is more skilled but Vitali has the better physical attributes. Too lazy to go into why, other than that after watching 20+ fights of each of them, it seems obvious to me.

I used to think Wlad, but id say Vitali. Wlad has become a simple fighter with three punches. His punches always look forced and he just never fights smooth to me, always looks uncomfortable in a way. Vitali seems to know who and what he is more and even though his jab is not as good, his balance is better and his punches flow better.

They are both skilled, and their skillsets are each tailored for their physical attributes. It is apples and oranges really.

I vote draw. Their differences are in physical/demeanor, not skillset.

Ah, you've touched on something here. :good

    Talent =/= skill.

I'm not even sure about Vitali being all that much more talented overall (ie do his greater natural talents: reflexes, footwork/speed, and chin outweight Wladimir's greater natural talents: power and single shot hand speed?) but they are closer in talent than in skill.

Most people that voted Vitali voted only because he lost to Lewis.
That way, if Vitali lost to LEWIS and he is the better brother,THAT MEANS Wladimir would also lose to Lewis. BUT! Wladimir is the better boxer, has more power, is faster and has had more fights than his brother...........Also Vitali was the first draw blood against Lewis. If Wladimir hit Lewis with his right hand that fight would of been over................

I disagree that the Lewis fight has anything to do with why people are voting for Vitali.
They vote for him because hes much more multi dimensional than Wlad.
