I'm inclined to think it would be welterweight.

    Agree/disagree?

Heavyweight is the toughest and most underrated division by this forum. Marciano/Dempsey/Patterson all small HWs, not the best ever in their division and near to the LHW division in weight yet beat the better LHWs of all time

Light heavyweight for me,the reason for this is that i fell that this was probably sam langford's best weight, it was definetly ezzard charles best weight and harry greb was brilliant there. That 3 of my top 5 ATG that where at there best or near there best at this weight, also i have gene tunney and archie moore near my top 10. Added to that fighters of the quality of loughran, conn, johnson, foster, spinks and jones its pretty hard to beat.

A good argument could be made for light, welter and middleweight as well of course

Benny Leonard, Roberto Duran, Sweet Pea, Henry Armstrong, Carlos Ortiz, Julio Cesar Chavez, Ken Buchanan, Alexis Arguello, as well as many, many more, you could even chuck Pacqiuao and JMM in now, amongst other great fighters (I bet there are some really notable guys I'm missing in this stream of consciousness now) all did a lot of their best work (or arguably found this their prime weight)

    Lightweight. Of course.

    That made absolutely no sense.

Anyways, the answer is probably Welterweight, along with Lightweight.

PowerPuncer also thinks Barrera is a better 122 lb fighter than Gomez, has more variety and is more skilled than Gomez, and would school him at 122 lbs :patsch

you walked into the right thread, I'm literally fuming sat in front of my pc right now

PowerPuncher is generally one of the most simple-minded posters on this forum. He's basically the Classic troll along with Senya and Redrooster.

I don't think he's simple minded because he has his own logic.

Unfortunately, a lot of the time his logic is wrong. I don't think you could find anyone else who thinks that A) his HW suggestion made any sense B) Would agree that Barrera beats Gomez at 122.

By the way, I'm still saying LW and awaiting a response from PowerPuncher on his proposed strategy for Barrera against Gomez. Outbox? Barrera didn't really start 'boxing' fluently until he fought at 126. Gomez was a fluid boxer with fast hands and exceptional footwork in his prime and would beat Barrera this way. Trade with Gomez???

Hell, I should be posting this in the other thread!!!!
