gatti dlh and hatton have huge loyal fans, and have drawn numbers against other fighters. pbf is riding coatails to these numbers. he needs to prove that he can do it on his own as dlh hatton and gatti have shown that they can sell out arenas on their own. pbf has not shown to be able to do that without a great dance partner.

I don't think a win over margo's gonna change that. The only thing a win over margo does is make Floyd look REALLY bad if he doesn't fight him. It doesn't up cotto's drawing power too much. Right now Floyd only looks pretty bad for not fighting him. When Cotto beats Margo there will be nothing else for anyone to say but lets get it on!

But dispite all the **** on this site and the douche bags calling Cotto a coward (thats ****ing rediculous) I do agree that Cotto should do more to sell this fight or call out mayweather. I imagine its already been calculated and after the Margarito fight Cotto will probably call Floyd out directly by name as say that he wants to fight him.

Cotto didn't do this after the fight cause he ws told not to by Arum. He was told by Arum that he had to fight Margarito first. So he didn't call him out cause he wasn't going to fight him next.

Arum wants to make his money off a Margo fight and show his fighters that when one of his fighters takes a risk which is good for boxing (a la Williams Margarito) that he (Arum) isn't going to leave his fighter high and dry if that risk doesn't pan out. Not sure how I feel about Arum's charitable side, considering he's pretty selective in who he's charitable with.

I don't think it would match it, but there's no doubt in my mind that the PPV would do fantastic numbers. Both fighters would receive a great payday and the boxing fans around the world would be getting a treat in seeing the 2 best Welterweight's in the world going at it.

Yeah Win lose or draw for either guy it would be two top p4p who are clearly the best two at there wieght class, who have opposite and complimentary styles, both near the hight of their powers....no excuses, no angles, no he wasn't ready for the big stage, no he wasn't big enough, no he was past his prime, no he wasn't proven, just the best man wins, no excuses.

Come on boxing fans how could you not be dying to see this fight:happy

Exactly.....fact is most hardcore fans find a place to watch it for free because they've already over spent their PPV allowance this year.

Considering Hatton doesn't have a huge fan base from that states and the PPV still did 800k+ I think Floyd can put up some good numbers. I believe if he fights Cotto now then he would probably put up around the same as the Hatton fight. If he fights Cotto early next year then I think it could possibly break 1 mil because Cotto will do nothing but get a bigger fan base from here on out.

Basically if they fought now they would put up some good numbers to where both will recieve good paydays.
