For real though, why did Cotto take that knee?

I suggest the OP let a friend with a cast on hit him in the face. That should answer the question. Who knows, it might even knock some sense into him. :think

You just further proved you really DKSAB!! I'm not joking either. Cotto lacks the cojones of a real champion, That's why he QUIT. Be honest you have never seen a boxing match live or even been inside a boxing gym have you ???:scaredas::hi:

Because he took a horrible beating and was tired. He had the fight beaten out of him. It's not some big mystery lol

Sometimes fighters give up when they have nothing or very little left and are taking horrible beatings.

thats why so few men make it through tests like that without laying it down. most men would quit in the same situation, but some wont... those are the ones who make boxing my favorite sport.

Does anybody remember Gatti in round 9 against Ward? Gatti was about as exhausted and hurt as any fighter I can recall. He was in even worse shape than Cotto, especially fatigue wise. Gatti could not summon the stamina to even clinch. He could do nothing, but stand in the ring by the end of the round.

But he refused to take a knee. Just wouldn't do it.

I love Cotto as a fighter and I don't blame him for taking a knee, but there's no doubt he doesn't have that Gatti, Holyfield, Saad Muhammad level of fight in him. Cotto's been in some tough battles and overcame a hell of a lot, but you don't really see him in those kinds of wars. Credit to him, I guess, for the self-preservation tactics, but he ain't on that level.

because margarito broke cotto physically and mentally.you can argue about loaded gloves all you want but he wasn't caught with anything in this fight so its innocent until proven guilty. still one of my favorite fights to watch!!!
