sums it up.. people forget that most of his resume was made up of c level oppostion that he would just blast out of there. the writing was on the wall after the kevin kelley fight..
Great article. Anyone who can't see he was a one off ATG doesn't know **** about Boxing or can't get past their hatred for Naz.
Good entertainer, cleaned up his division and got all the belts. Got many people into boxing during his prime, myself included
he wasn't a 'bum' - he was a gifted fighter with a hard dig, unfortunately he just took away from alot of his good work in the ring by acting like a classless gimp all the time. all that stupid **** in the ring didn't help either and sadly thats all most people remember when you mention his name. the fact he pretty much gave up after his first loss (barring the crap win against calvo) just sullied his name even more, and as is the case with most things in this world, people mostly only remember the negatives.....
I'm 38 and BMI @ 22.7 :deal You know why many people become fat when they pass 30? They stop all physical activity and step by step add more junk food to their diet. Do you realize what a pig Naz has become? He must eat 4000-5000 calories each day sitting on his fat ass all day with zero exercise. Seriously -- how far do you have to fall from being a professional athlete, from living and breathing exercise and nutrition regimes .. to becoming a 35 BMI lardo. Terrible.
mentally he was overrated, but he certainly had some of the physical attributes that can amount to ATG. sadly, that dont mean hes an ATG. You have to deliver too! Not comebacking really impedes any argument for benig even a HOFer.
Prince layed the blueprint for for David Haye and Floyd in terms of selling fights and promtiing fights, no one comes close since to making boxing the event da prince did.
Prime Naz would have still lost to MAB but would have been a tougher fight, its a stylistic matchup. People forget that MAB is top 10, if not top 5 greatest mexican boxers of all time.
