Calzage was not always impressive but he has a great quality of adapting to a style, one of the best in modern times. He has quick hands, power, good legs, goes to the body well and is a mentally strong fighter add all of that with the fact that he always tried to fight the best and beat everyone he faced and got up off the floor to win 4 times and has 21 defenses at 168 and you have a ATG great fighter, one of the best at 168 ever
Calzaghe is undefeated. His legend will grow after he retires though there will be an asterisk after his name. The asterisk will note that aside from an aging Hopkins, he did not meet any P4P fighters during his reign. There will be a lot of what ifs when boxing historians will mention the name of Calzaghe.
"Undefeated" means as little in this game as any other sport in the world, unless you have the CONTENT to make it genuinely worth something. That's the point, not any generic comparisons. You're extremely slow to catch on.. Still.
The guy is an excellent boxer and boxing will be worse off when he retires. Good luck in whatever he decides to do I say.
Calz. resume is fine. Pretty much to a man, his opponents have given him props, and over time those comments are going to increase. Hopkins mentioned that no one can keep up with Calz. before the Jones fight and after Hops. beat Pavlik. It's allready starting there.......Wait till Jones tells everyone how surprised he was that Calz. got off the matt, and then took the fight to him like a demon. I also perdict Jones is going to someday say he was ready for that fight and not shot, just got beat better man, and if they fought at anytime in their careers it would be a damn good fight. We will see
