For the judges it was tied through 10 for 2 of them, would have been draw if Bud didn't win round 12

I had it 6/5 to Crawford with 1 even
I had the first 6 rounds 3/2 Alvarez with 1 even

All 3 judges had Round 2 for Canelo. Compubox also favored Canelo in Round 2 5/21 23.8% to 3/37 8.1%.

Oddly enough the AI Scorecard that had it a draw, gave Bud the 2nd round, the only round of the first 5 that went to him.

The scoring was fair, perhaps a little favorable to Crawford, but fair nonetheless.

I find it hilarious that after Canelo gets dethroned by decision by Bud Crawford in a fight that many fans had it for Canelo, in a fight that almost everyone agrees was close and competitive, you and some others are still accusing Canelo getting cooked scorecards.

Why is it surprising that Bud would have needed to win the 11th and 12th to win? This was an extremely close fight over the first 10 rounds. One of the reasons maybe this was shocking is the fact that the unofficial scorer had Crawford winning 6 of the 7 rounds, a scandalous scorecard. Keep in mind that the first round that Bud outlanded Canelo in according to Compubox was Round 6! At that point Netflix already had Bud ahead 4-1 going into that round.

If Bud can win multiple rounds against Canelo in which he is outlanded in, then it would be hard for Canelo to win a decision. In the past Canelo has won fights despite being outlanded because his punches are harder or better than his opponents. Although he was outlanded overall here, that was entirely due to Round 9, a round that Bud outlanded Canelo by 23 punches him. That's 7 more punches than the 16 more than Bud landed overall in the fight. So anotherwords, if you take out Round 9, Canelo outlanded Bud by 7 punches over the other 11 rounds (Rounds 1-8 & 10-12) So on a round by round basis, Canelo lost a number of rounds that Compubox had him landing more than Bud which is unusual.

For example, Round 4, a round that all 3 judges gave to Bud, had Canelo outlanding Bud 11/26 42.3% to 8/40 20% and had Canelo landing 5 more power punches. Those numbers are shocking for a round that was given unanimously to Bud.

So lets not act like there was favorable judging to Canelo here. If anything this was favorable judging to Crawford, given the numbers and given the result.

When I scored it I tried to write a short commentary on my decision. For round 2 I noted that the good quality connects were pretty even in volume, but Bud had the superior timing and got the bigger more consequential reactions from Canelo. Weirdly enough, I thought round 2 was the clearest Bud round of the first 4.

OK and that sounds reasonable. That maybe Canelo landed a few more punches in the round, but that perhaps Crawford's best shots in the round were better than Canelo? That's certainly something that can and does happen in boxing. But it's noteworthy that Bud was able to win rounds like that in which Compubox had him being outladned and him out %ged. Given that it is typically Canelo who has known to be able to win rounds that he was outlanded in (like against Bivol, the first four, like some against GGG) and maybe people cited Compubox as reasons for why Canelo shouldn't have won them. When you land some great shots that are better than what your opponent lands in a round, then you can overcome being outlanded or out %ged. I'll have to review this round to better understand what happened there.

Well, for one, you scored the first 5 rounds 3-1-1 in favor of Canelo, while the official judges had it 3-2, 3-2, 2-3 in favor of Crawford. The unofficial card had it 4-1 Crawford, while the AI card had it 4-1 Canelo.

The one round you did give to Crawford out of the first 5 rounds was a round that all judges agreed Crawford won, but the other 4 rounds (1,2,3, and 5) the judges were more favorable towards Crawford than you were. I think your score is very fair by the way, but you definitely gave Canelo credit for his work over the first 5 rounds that the judges did not.
