Is it true that as you progress in training that it eventually gets to the point that if you use certain techniques and punch with out gloves you can break your knuckles??? I heard from some people it is a myth and some people it is true, so I wanted to hear from people that actually train in boxing.
So you're basically asking is it possible to break your knuckle from punching something? Why do you need to be a boxer to answer such a question? A myth, seriously? Whoever told you that is an idiot. atsch The answer is yes. Guys that get into drunken fights on a weekend constantly break their hands and they've never stepped into a boxing gym...
Even with "hand conditioning", if you hit with your hand wrong you can break it. Mike Tyson is a prime example. One of the hardest punchers, and when he got into a streetfight with Mitch Green, he broke his hand punching him in the head. They don't call it a "boxer's fracture" for nothing.
even on a soft punching bag, if you **** up the punch a bit you could break/fracture/sprain something on it. Wrap hands, wear gloves, problem solved.
This. Stupid question. You can break your hands day one or after ten years of training, your hands are delicate little flowers.
Hello I just created a website for fighters looking for sparring partners and sparring partners look for work. I've been looking for feedback on this concept. VanSparr Sparring
