Agreed. Calazghe held all the major belts, he also was Ring champion at two weights. Froch has held a few titles but he's not number 1 in the division. He lost to Kessler and Ward, plus it was tight against Dirrell.
If he beats Ward and Hopkins then that's another thing.

The super middleweight division is stronger now than it was was in Calzaghe's era, he would have been better off moving up to light heavyweight sooner, and squaring off against Tarver, Johnson, Dawson etc, Calzaghe also missed an opportunity to kill the hype around Kelly Pavlik, when its all said and done Calzaghe never really tested himself until it was too late.

Whilst I agree that Joe's record is underrated these days, beating Ward would certainly be the beat win on either fighter's record if it were to happen and would undoubtedly put Froch ahead of Calzaghe

  5. has anyone here bika v ward ? I thought bika gave him his hardest fight and was closer than expected

Id say he needs not only to beat ward,b-hop but beat them both in america.Great fighters don't say get them over here.I like froch but the way he carries on would think he was robbed over in the states against ward,he wasn't he got a beat down pure and simple and got beat on the inside which he didn't expect.Style wise ward all wrong for him and simply put beats him every time.

Froch is not the best fighter in his division and in my opinion never will be therefore until he is can't be considered in joes league until he proves conclusively he is.

Yes it was, only the scores were awful. And didn't tell the story of the fight at all (same thing with Ward vs Miranda).

He'd have to move up to cruiserweight or heavyweight to find opponents.

bullsh!t, Joe didnt beat Ward, Joe beat Kessler to cement himself as unified champ and the no 1

    Carl has done that also.

The bhop win is inflated because Jermain Taylor beat Hopkins twice and Carl KOed taylor.

A win over Bhop past he age of 40 while good is not a great win, it wasnt great twice for taylor, wasnt great for Calzaghe (nor clear might I add), and it also wasnt great for Chad Dawson.

Sad that this win is some type of clinger on for Joe fans, tells the tale of his shabby resume for sure.

either way imo froch has a far superior resume to calzaghe.

Calzaghe's wins over B-Hopand Prime Kessler is greater than any of Froch's wins.
