Oscar beats Floyd prime for prime, I agree with that. Especially in the lighter weights where Oscar was just a monster. Oscar was never in great shape at 154, he didn't have to train hard enough to be in great shape at that weight, and he was a part time boxer by then. Oscar was never the same fighter since he was robbed in the Tito fight. Anyone who was following boxing at the time should know that. Oscar felt robbed by boxing, and he was.... after that he never had the same focus, and became a part time boxer. It's amazing what he was still able to accomplish.

Quartey fared pretty well against the same Oscar, and all he brought was a great jab and great physical strength.

Felix was never really the sharpest tool in the box.

It's really this simple. Look at Floyd's resume. There isn't a single fight that Floyd has fought, that Oscar would not have also won given the same opponents.

Now... look at Oscar's resume. Can you see Floyd being undefeated if he fought, Whitaker, Chavez, Hopkins, Trinidad, Mosley, Pac, Quartey, Camacho, Mayweather himself, Vargas, Mayorga, ect? Hell, Oscar's resume is so extremely amazing that people forget the fact that he tore apart guys Ruelas, Leija, Genaro Hernandez, Miguel Angel Gonzalez, Obe Carr, Castillejo, Gatti, ect... Yet, Gatti and Genaro are always listed as a couple of Floyd's top wins. Oscar beat them BEFORE Floyd and beat them quicker than Floyd. That's how stacked Oscar's resume is.

At a elite level Mayweather does not stop the majority of other elite welterweights. Oscar De La Hoya beat down and stopped other elite fighters, Mayweather does not because..? he does not have elite offence, if he had elite offence he should of stopped Guerrero..? why didn't he..? Guerrero was coming up in weight, was slower, had limited technical ability compared to Mayweather.

If Mayweather is behind on the cards, and needing a knock out! He does not have the ability to turn things around like Mike Tyson, David Haye, Shane Mosley, Oscar De La Hoya. He does not have that kind of offence, even Muhammad Ali turned things around vs Lyle, and stopped Foreman, Chuvalo.

Mayweather has not got a elite offence otherwise he would of went through the gears and totally destroyed Guerrero. Mayweather's defence ability out weighs his offensive ability. He dominated Guerrero in so many departments but still..? he could only really land single shots why..? His offence is not elite in my opinion.

I would place money on him not stopping ANYBODY in ANY of his remaining fights. His last legitimate stoppage was vs Hatton, and Hatton had to basically run into the punch and post faster than Bolt to help Mayweather's power along.

He was different because the opponents were different. He was being outboxed by Ike, so he warred.

He was wary of Trinidad's power, so he moved. He brought the same attributes and a similar experience level to each fight.

    Only the approach was different.

So by your logic, Pernell doesn't have elite offense? Your whole entire argument is that Floyd doesn't knock people out. What elite fighters have Oscar knocked out besides Vargas (who already got knocked the **** out)? Besides Spinks who has Tyson KOed who was elite? There is nothing that Floyd can't do besides knock out people. He has a very good jab, great right hand, great left hook, good body puncher, etc.

I highly doubt Oscar would go undefeated if we are including age. Oscar would be done by the time he was Floyd's age.

Maybe not undefeated but he wouldn't have 6 loses either. Oscar moved those two up and beat them. Let's not forget that.

Ike Quartey was a more formidable WW than Mayweather IMO especially with his jab and size alone.

I've always favoured Oscar from 140 and above, and Mayweather 135 and below in this fight. Just my 2 cents.

That is where you are wrong. Oscar would NOT have been done. Oscar was done and washed up because he was in so many mega fights at such a young age. Beyond that, he became a part time boxer when he was robbed against Tito. Had Oscar fought Floyd's resume, that wouldn't have happened, and Oscar would have never lost that love for boxing as he did after the Tito fight. I would love to know who you see on Floyd's resume that would have beat Oscar De La Hoya, especially at the point that Floyd fought them.

Floyd was given a gift against Castillo in their first fight... can you imagine Castillo having that kind of success against ODLH? Not a chance... hell, Castillo was Chavez's whipping post. The same Chavez that Oscar walked through. Castillo was basically a poor man's Chavez, but not even close to being as good as Chavez was. Let's remember that Chavez was still the Champ and was still beating on Castillo when Oscar rolled over him.

Floyd would most definitely have 6 losses against that group. Floyd thrives off of being undefeated, and I seriously doubt that he would handle a loss very well. I can definitely see a fighter who's career would have come crashing down after a loss. I wouldn't be surprised to see more than that. Floyd Mayweather is no Oscar De La Hoya. You are being brainwashed by one of the biggest cherry pickers in the history of the sport. Ever since Castillo put it on him, Floyd has always avoided certain fighters. Oscar fought EVERYONE.

I'm not quite as passionate about ODLH as you are, but I do think prime for prime he'd beat Floyd, especially at 147 and as far as comp goes there really is no comparison, Floyd's comp is crap compared to ODLH.

Oscar is not fighting as long as Floyd did at 130. Oscar couldn't handle the weight for that long. That is why saying he would easily go undefeated isnt that easy because there are other factors to consider. Oscar was still an elite fighter after the Tito fight. He was done when he started doing drugs. I don't see Oscar being recognized as the best P4P at 36 years old. How many have been rated that high at 36 anyway?

You bring up the fact why Oscar was done but ignore that Floyd had an injured rotator cuff that kept him out most of the year? Why couldn't Castillo clearly beat a healthy Floyd? That fight wasn't a gift either. It was an extremely close fight hence why press row scoring had Floyd winning.

So Floyd is going to get thoroughly out boxed by Shane in the second half of the fight? Oscar could out box Tito but Floyd couldn't. He could avoid Tito's left all night but Floyd couldn't? I see 1 or 2 losses for Floyd. He takes an L against Hopkins and possibly takes an L against Quartey. We don't know how Floyd would react to losing. I'm not brainwashed at all. Oscar has arguably lost to lesser fighters than Floyd but I'm supposed to believe that he would just spank Floyd easy? If Floyd was so scared after the Castillo fight, why did he do an automatic rematch? Floyd could have just taken that win and moved on. He came back and showed everyone who the better fighter was and that should be taken into account.
