He needed 8 stitches on his left eye
    2 staples on his head
    Ligament damage to right knee
    Broken Left Hand

sounds like a hard hard fight to me, which it was ......

Well, maybe he exerted himself more than he has done in recent years. Still, it doesn't stop it from being the wide, convincing win it was. The same way in which Pac being busted up by Marg didn't stop him from bagging wide, convincing win, either.

Wide, convincing, but not easy. Martinez had to back Jr. off him repeatedly, use a ton of footwork, and throw nearly 1000 punches. Had he slacked off in training even a bit, we likely see a different fight.

Were the staples the result of that head butt?

Although it was a dominant fight by the Champion he was definitely in a TOUGH fight. I'd say it was one of his toughest fights from a physicality stand point.

Agreed. A bit like Manny Pac vs Margarito. Pac won every round convincingly, but it took him to along time to recover and he calls it his toughest fight.

There's some fights that are easy. Floyd's had a few of them...like the one with JMM. PAC's had a few of them...like the one with DLH and Ricky. But Sergio did make this fight look easy by the way he controlled the action, distance and pace....but the bigger man definitely made his mark and let Sergio know that he was in a tough fight against a bigger, yet more limited fighter than himself.

it was one of the easiest fight of his career, knee problems and hand doesnt make the fight hard.... also you can get cut in the eye from one punch and not be hit once again during the entire fight

Winning 11 rounds is IMO and "easy fight"

If you can post injuries of other fighters after tougher fights you will probably find that they have sustained way more damage.

Staples that high on the head were probably due to accidental headbuts (Notcaused by Chavez Jnr punching him)

Knee damage was again not caused by punches, more likely his constant movement.

And the broken hand. Dont really need to tell you what caused this do i.

Most fights are going to be gruelling. Thats a given. But i am sorry i cant see how you cant see it as an "easy win"

IMO its not the damage taken, its how you win the fight. and getting badly hurt in one round, yet dominating the rest is a pretty "easy fight" in comparison to what it could have been.

He made it harder for himself in the later rounds by letting Chavez tee off on him on the ropes.

Whilst he was in the middle of the ring, Chavez was unable to land even a jab.
