For those of you that thought Cotto was another Trinidad or somethin' close...

Worst thread ever. To be honest, Cheato Trinidad can be compared to Margarito.

 

a substance thats hardens as Margo sweats to Plaster of Paris proportions and you figure that its a first for the Margo Team, of course he was using that vs Cotto it explains a hell of a lot for me let Margo face Cotto without the ****ing wraps! Cotto should be undefeated and pissed and looking to fire his cousin and hire a top notch guy like Shane had tonight!!!

 

Correction Cotto got a WIN over shane....If you go back and check polls after the fight many people thought that Shane won the fight.....There is no question who won this fight...

I think that the talk of Cotto being a monster is put to rest...Cotto is a good young fighter but far from a monster and he isnt a big puncher...I think that Cotto's power is vastly over rated, and always has been.

 

Nobody ever said Cotto was exactly like Trinidad, nor did anyone say he ever would be; and very few said he could reach or surpass Tito's popularity. In fact, most of the comparison you heard during Cotto's build-up on HBO was that it was a futile challenge for him to try and fill those shoes due to his quiet, aloof nature in contrast with the bombastic, outgoing Felix.

All that was said was that he could pick up the mantle of being the next big PR boxing star. Which he's already done. He cement that as far back as the Torres and Quintana wins, actually.

He still beat Shane, many people can think what they like, it doesnt make it so.

Still dont see what SSM putting a clinic on Margo has to do with Cotto being compared to Tito, or what the TS was trying to get at by saying Cotto fans should remember the date. Doesnt make sense.

Monster talk being put to rest, again has **** all to do with Shane, HE didnt do it.

I agree his power is overrated, especially at 147.

 

Im guessing that what the talk is about...Cause Cotto is already a more skilled fighter then Tito was....My point is that fight with Shane and Cotto could have gone to shane and no one or very few would have complained about it....What Shane did to margo was different....If Cotto was the beast that many claim him to be then he should have been able to get rid of Margo as well...he lands just as many big shots as shane did...so the diference in the fight was power:good

 

I only said that cotto's POWER was over rated...I think that cotto is a good fighter...

That wasnt what the TS was getting at. He was having a pop at Cotto on the back of Shane's performance. A performance that has nothing to do with Cotto.

The thread isnt about the difference in power between Shane and Cotto, or Shane being better equipped to deal with Margo than Cotto was. It wasnt anything constructive, which is why it was shat on by more people than me.

Shane's win doesnt mean anything in regard to Cotto, other than he is better equipped for a fighter like Margo. Much like Hop is better equipped for Pavlik than Taylor is. Doesnt mean anything else.

 

People have been making crazy ass associations all night. Anyone with an axe to grind is grinding it even if the axe is obviously a rake.
