For those of you who actually watched the Winky/Vargas fight...Scorecards?

I saw this fight at a bar or friends house I forget which, And I was completely and utterly shitfaced. Nothing constructive can be pried from me. I`ll try to snag a download of the fight online and see what I think. I do remember my one buddy at the time was pissed. He was a Golden gloves boxer and he had Wink winning the fight. Admittedly though he thought it was close but clear.

 

I don't remember exactly how I scored it but I definitely had Winky winning.

Watch it again if you get the opportunity. Based on what you'll hear about this fight it's SHOCKING how little work Winky actually put in. He got outhustled constantly.

 

OMGosh! It was a close fight, but Vargas won the fight! I thought Winky did well with his stiff jab, but I thought Vargas was busier, was hitting more, and wanted to fight more.

I didn't score the fight when I watched it, but it was clear Winky won that fight. Vargas was not busier, at least not clearly so, because both guys were trading shots the whole fight but Winky landed the cleaner, straighter more accurate shots. Vargas was outboxed. It was clear, at least to me. I wish someone would post a video of the fight so I can watch it again and score it. Vargas had his moments, but ain't no way you can tell me Vargas beat Winky that night.

Vargas was the undefeated, up-and-coming prospect that everyone hyped up. He had superstar potential. He had blockbuster fights coming his way. He got the gift in this fight. The judges couldn't let him lose to this nobody journeyman named Winky Wright. No one knew Winky back then. He got robbed. Don't be afraid to admit it :good

They gave the fight to Vargas because he already had a name.

 

Had it all draw but I suppose if someone has to win maybe its Wright because the rounds in which he won clearly was more then that Vargas won clearly I had that about 5-4 Winky in clear rounds then Vargas won 2 of my 3 rounds I thought we very close.

 

I haven't seen it in a while but I had it 114-114. I also thought there were couple close rounds so either man could win 115-113.

Damn good fight...

 

.........Yet another fight which proves beyond any doubt that lemming fans don't score body punches.

 

It's been a while but I had Winky winning either 7-5 or 8-4.
