...you found out that DLH weighed just 147 on fight night? I was like "Oh no". I don't see how this is even possible. He looked like a freaken chopstick in there.

Me betting money on DLH was based on the assumption that he would have a natural 10-15 lb weight advantage come fight night.

I think he misread the contract that you had to weigh 147 at the weigh in, not during fight night.

So what excuse are you using?

    1. He was weight drained
    2. He threw the fight
    3. He aged overnight

Or are you using all 3?

Yes, I can see that you are using all three...has the propellor come off your cap dude? Because you're flying in circles man :yep

Pacman is amazing but DLH was like a zombie in there. If you didn't notice that, i don't know what else to say.

i for one second do not believe that hoya just weighed 147 for that fight. it was very obvious that he was the bigger guy on that ring. and this is the first time in my memory that dlh has been weighed during fightnight and his fighting weight was actually revealed.

and you're not exactly an objective observer, having lost a ton of money in that fight. obviously you're angry. but this is not a reason to make wild accusations like this. it spoils the experience for the other fight fans here.

Nah, I did man, DLH looked pretty bad on there, but he looked alright for the first 2 rounds I thought - he was walking Manny down, and didn't back off until the 3rd round, by which time he'd tasted quite a few of Manny's straight lefts...

I don't think he looked that much bigger. He looked taller, but frail and thin. I believe it.

Yes its true Oscar isnt as good today as he was in the late 90's, yes he was a bit weight drained making 145 - 147 lbs, and yes he has aged over the years. However no one has any right to take anything away from Manny for rolling into Vegas and pounding the **** out of a former P4P great who happened to also be a naturaly bigger man. If this was the Oscar of 10 years ago then maybe he would have beat Manny but the fact is Pacman fought a great fight.

One thing is for sure though, that if it was de la hoya from 10 years ago, he would've at least engaged more in exchanges. Last night, he was just a punching bag.

Actually I thought the opposite! What that showed me was DLH was in very good shape not putting on an excess of 10 or 15 lbs by fight night. What his weight suggested was that he lost the weight in a very calculated and intelligent manner......meaning he didn't just loose water weight or dehydrated himself to make the weight.

I was worried after round 2......I thought after round one "OK....manny is faster than DLH expected...he'll adjust to the speed and catch him eventullay" But after anther round where DLH was beat to the punch I knew his speed was going to be too much.

I lost $50 on Saturday but it was the easiest $50 I ever lost. I really wanted PAC to do something amazing and he didn't dissapoint.

Heck, i think the guy that fought PBF knocks Pacman out. That was a DLH who weighed around 164 on fight night and still looked like a near "elite" fighter. Going down all the way to 147 obviously affected him. Before the fight, Merchant was talking about the weight and how DLH's body might've been so used to this drained weight that he didn't have an appetite and his body didn't feel like going back up because it didn't want/need it. His stomach shrunk. He had stayed at around 147 for weeks.
