What do you think is the best Sugar Ray Robinson biography. I want to read about him and Im wondering what you guys think is the best. I read "Hands of Stone", a Duran bio and I thought it was great. If you can name other good boxing bios or autobiographies, I'd be interested...

I don't read a ton of sports books, but "The Professional" is one of my favorite novels of all time. It's not actually a bio, as it's fictional, but it reads as one, with a fictionalized narrative of a getting-on-in-his-years middleweight getting his last title shot. It follows him in his training camp up in the mountains all the way up until the fight and is written through the perspective of the sportswriter tagging along. It's absolutely stunning. Written by WC Heinz, who was apparently a pretty gifted sports journalist himself.

Yea man that sounds great, thats exactly the type of book Im looking for. The training camp is a Huge plus, thanks. Im definetely looking for books that talk alot about the BOXING and BOXING LIFESTYLE, and not so much how many girl he banged and how much crack he smoked when it all went downhill lol.

Sounds good Ill check it out. Thanks for responding.
