These are all books that I've already picked up, so feel free to add books that you recommend me to buy also, I'll be sure to consider if I'm yet to read them.
Oh right. I've said this a couple of times in older threads, but the back of Calzaghe mentions his wins over Kessler and Hopkins, but the book only gets up to Manfredo Jr. That in itself makes the book ****, no matter how good it actually was.
"Jem Mace: Master of the Ring" (good) "Jack Johnson and the Great White Hopes" (very good) "The Black Lights" (very good)
:good I'm just looking which one of them I should read next. I know they aren't bound to be great, but I generally pick them up regardless if I see them in town or something.
Nipper: The Amazing Story of Boxing's Wonderboy. Fantastic. Jersey Boy by Adeyinka Makinde. Cyclone: My Story. The new Barry McGuigan book has some fabulous bits. The Cobra by Carl Froch has some fantastic bits. And one that will surprise with how entertaining and honest it is: When the Gloves Came Off by Billy Walker. Adios. Adios.
Sparring with Hemmingway - Schulberg Chris Eubanks Autiobiography Reg Gutteridge Autiobiograpy Bernard Dunne - Autobiography And how is Angelo Dundee's book? I was thinking of getting that one. From your list I would read - Ringside next. Brilliant read. One book that I bought and I didnt finish was Jacobs Beach by Kevin Mitchell - it was very poor in comparison to the chapter that Schulberg covered on Mike Jacobs in his book Ringside.
I just read The life and crimes of Don King. Interesting read. Dark Trade is good and I enjoyed Steve Bunce's book the Fixer.
