The only stoppage that really counts is the Pavlik which was actually his corner. He could have finished the fight. The ko stoppages were over a decade ago early in his career at lower weights.

Honestly I think Rubio is probably more durable than Murray.. but he might not be. Martinez was already sliding pretty hard when they fought, and I cant recall him really being in with someone who could punch otherwise. He has a tight guard also which helps.

Rubio stood up to Lemeiux and Jr without really sweating it. I think context is important.

We will see how durable he is in a couple of weeks though.

Because they are Golovkin nuthuggers they overrate his opposition, like because you are a Mayweather nuthugger you overrate his.

And no, Maidana was not a consensus top 5 WW when Mayweather signed to fight him. You know how you like to use TBR's as the oracle, they didn't have him top 5. This was at the weekend BEFORE Porter stopped Paulie:

Not in the top 5 there..

    How about The Ring?

    Nope, not in there either...

Do you know what consensus means?

Mayweather signed to fight Maidana when he was #5.

After the signing but before the fight, Porter flattened Paulie and leap frogged him in many rankings.

Doesn't change where Maidana was ranked before that.

EDIT: We've been over this before, Hans.

Quit bringing up your favorite fighter to discuss, Mayweather, in threads that specifically have nothing to do with him.

    :readthre:

As it says in McGrain's post, Maidana was 6th and that was BEFORE they had changed the ratings to reflect Porter's win over Malignaggi.

Therefore when Mayweather signed to fight him he would've been 6th being that Porter last fight before that took place a week earlier than Maidana's.

I never brought him up. You did. In another clear display of your agenda.

I was happily discussing and reading about Golovkin and upcoming Golovkin vs. Rubio when you showed up and mentioned Mayweather out of nowhere.

    ---

I will watch my use of the term "consensus" a little clearer from now on.

No that would be Calzaghe .

Golovkin will not outbox G man because G man wont allow him to stick to boxing .

If Golovkin tries to just box , Hes going to get pummeled .

Its going to be straight up slugfest whether he wants it to be or not .

Either knock out or get knocked out .

Nigel Benn quickly hit the canvas and was out of it The sec Gerald came at him in the very first rnd .

G man should have been awarded a 1st rnd TKO in that fight .

Really? Who's Floyd fought that you believe hits as hard as GGG? I think if nothing else its certainly NOTHING like anything Floyd has had to deal with before.

He also throws about 3 punches a round. I don't see how that's enough to keep GGG off him, it wasn't even enough to keep Floyd honest.
