please give your reason(s) as to why you think he won? Besides the 4th round and the other round he stunned Marquez in, he only won maybe two other rounds. Marquez clearly counterpunched the PacMan silly. He also hurt PacMan on several occasions. Anyhow, please state the rounds you gave for PacMan.
Copy and paste my houghts on the fight Heres how I saw it: Clear rounds are: 2,5,6,7,12 were clear rounds for JMM. 3,4,10 & 11 clear for Pac with 3 having a KD score. 1, 7 & 9 were very close rounds, so to be fair I split it, I gave 1 to JMM, 9 to Pac & score 7th even. Overall card looked like this: Pac-JMM 1) 9-10 2) 9-10 3) 10-8 4) 10-9 5) 9-10 6) 9-10 7) 9-9 9-10 9) 10-9 10) 10-9 11) 10-9 12) 9-10 Total: 113-113 The score was a draw. Now based on those 3 rounds being switched around, taking out the even, any fighter could have gotten it and it would have still been a very close fight. IMO this was more of a draw than their last fight, I scored their first fight 1 point to Pac but this is exactly a draw. As it is, records will have it SD for Pac here and 1st being a draw. That 115-112 scorecard looks completely plausible if someone gave Pac all the close rounds. Likewise 115-112 to JMM is also completely plausible if someone have all close rounds to JMM. Split the close rounds between them and you get my score. IMO JMM is a nightmare for Pac to fight. A masterful boxer but with deceivingly fast speed(almost as fast as Pac) and crisp straight punches. The fact that Pac can draw with him is just a testament to his greatness, stylistic nightmare overcomed. Other great fighters like MAB couldnt nearly have as much success. Its simmilar to PBF getting a draw with Hearns or Hearns getting fighting evens with Hagler, both great fighters, one with a stylistic advantage yet equal result.
it was a close fight and it could have gone either way. don't make it seem that pac had his ass beaten to a pulp. it clearly was not
I also had 1,3,4,7,9 and 10 for Pac, and perhaps a missed 2nd KD when the ropes held JMM up at the end of the 3rd.
Negative. I never said Pac was beaten to a pulp; however, JMM, IMO, landed the cleaner, harder shots except for the knockdown and when he stunned JMM. Pac did land his fair share of punches, but JMM landed more. Pac flurried in some spurts, but did not do a lot of scoring. As a matter of fact, JMM flurried with Pac and was able to drive him off. Pac's flurries looked good, but didn't do too much damage. Pac had his moments, but for his supposedly "new" found defensive skills and right hand, he was soundly outboxed.
I had Pac winning 115-113, he hurt JMM worse than JMM hurt him:deal landed the harder shots nearly stopped JMM in the 3rd, and finished stronger, 2 judges and Harold Lederman of HBO had Paq winning so IT IS WHAT IT ISatsch Off the topic i thought Paq won the 1st fight also but had to settle for the draw...
Rounds 1, 7, and 9 were the closer rounds in the fight, I scored them all for JMM, based on being the ring general and controling the tempo and pace of those rounds, and landing cleaner and harder blows in them. All the other rounds were basically easy to score clear rounds that could not be mistaken for the other fighter. Pac winning 3,4, and 10..... .....and JMM winning 2,5,6,8,11,and 12. Imo JMM won 6 round clearly without a doubt. Pac won 3 which were clear. In order to give Pac the fight, you'd have to score every round not dominated by either fighter to him. The first round I dont see where you can make a case that Pac won it. It was a feeling out round where not much action occured. I'd have scored that round even, had it not been that JMM landed a hard straight right hand that landed flush on Pac's face, jolting it backwards. That was the only telling blow of the round, and its the only basis to which to give either fighter the round. JMM landed it, and so he got the round! Then in the 7th, imo JMM did more to win the round. He landed more telling blows in it. JMM starts the round with a left jab to Pac's body..... .....with 2:37 left JMM lands with a hard lead left hook to Pac's face. .....with 1:43 remaining JMM scores with a hard clean left hook to Pac body. With about a minute left to go, they both get into a vicious exchange with both landing good shots, Pac initiating and JMM countering. .....with about 20 seconds to go, JMM lands with a two punch combo. ....Pac lands a left hook at about 14 seconds left. ....the remaining seconds, JMM lands the cleaner shots. These were the more telling blows of the round, and JMM landed more of them in addition to controlling the pace and tempo of the round. Pac was being forced to fight at JMM's game, and he was'nt being effective in hanging with him. In my view, the 7th was clear for Marquez, but not as conclusive as some of the other rounds where Marquez had repeatedly jolted Pac's head repeatedly. For those who give the 7th to Pac, its like making up your mind that Pac did better in it than he had done in rounds 5 and 6 where Pac was clearly being dominated in them. The 9th, Pac is more active than JMM in the 1st minute of the round although nothing of great relevance is landing....by that I mean there was'nt a real telling shot that JMM got caught with. With 1:57 remaining Pac scores with a hard right hand. With 1:51 remaining JMM lands with a good left hook to Pac's body. 1:35 left, straight right hand lands by JMM. 1:30 left, again straigh right hand by JMM. 1:21 left hard left by Pac. With about 1:15 left, in a good aggressive move, JMM drives Pac to the ropes and loads with a volley of combos of which some landed. They exchange at about 50 seconds remaining in which Pac got slightly the better of the exchange. 41 seconds remaining, JMM comes back with a left hook to the body. 28 seconds remaining, JMM lands with a right hand. They both trade aggressive shots to end the round, but none of any telling significance land. The 9th was closer than the 1st and 7th, with Pac controlling the 1st minute, but JMM landing more telling shots the rest of the round. A case can be made for Pac in this round in that he landed more telling shots in it than he did in rounds 1 and 7, but he still did'nt outland JMM with the telling shots. So if someone is going to give a close round to Pac, the 9th would be the one that Pac comes close to winning. Though these rounds 1,7, and 9, its clear that JMM is better than Pac at controlling the distance of where he wants to be, and making Pac fight his fight. Not only does JMM outgeneral Pac in each of these rounds, but he lands more telling blows!
you said it yourself divac, the three rounds were close. then you contradicted yourself by saying that the rounds were close but should/could not be given to pac. how the hell were they close if you cannot give them to pac?
Well of course you did, all you know of boxing is Pac...... .....now outline the reasons why you gave those rounds to Pac as I did right above your post!:hey :yep Start off by stating the reasons why Pac took the 1st round...... .....oh thats right, I know, you gave it to Pac because he's Pac!:rofl
This back and forth is getting old. I could outline reasons to give both Pac and JMM rounds 1, 7, 9, and 11 if I didn't have to go to bed. That's how close it was.
