For Those That Say Bowe Had No Heart...

    Explain....

    A) His staying in, two seperate times, two of the very most brutal heavyweight fights of all time despite taking a prolonged beating each time that saw him literally brain damaged

    And

    B) Matching grit, determination and heart against Holyfield three seperate times.

    Bowe didn't hire someone else to go into the ring toe to toe with Holyfield, who's a consenus big balled warrior.

    i thought bowe lost his heart when he threw his belt in the trash can ...

    he also showed no heart by fighting dudes like herbie hide .. when he could have been setting up fights with the big names ..

    Er, and why would fighting Hide show a lack of heart?

    Guy blew out Tony Tucker in two. You know, the 6'6 iron chinned Tucker.

    You mean the 37yo shot to pieces Tucker who was on a losing streak.

    Bowe showed allot of heart in the ring BUT he ducked Lennox, no question

    Why didnt Bowe get fights with: Foreman/Moorer/Lennox in 93-96, he largely wasted those years

    Yeah, he would of been at a real disadvantage against comeback Foreman and Moorer. :lol:

    Well he'd probably beat both (although Moorer was more tricky), but Im asking why the fights never happened

    Lewis is the real fight that he should of taken. I think Lewis would have done a number on him though.

    Bowe is the best example of the difference between having heart inside the ring and outside it. Once in a fight, Bowe's heart was on par with Frazier's. But the way he blatantly ducked Lewis was something even Andrew Golota probably wouldn't do.

    Remember that he didn't have to continue fighting after seeing his pregnant wife being carried out on a stretcher after the fan man incident.

    The Evander fights are perhaps not the best example. Bowe was 3 inches and about 30 pounds heavier than Evander. ****, if he didn't show heart there in those exchanges, then when would he?

    I do think that he had heart though, just not a Frazier or Ali type of heart.

    I know Ray Mercer had absolutely no time for Bowe, because when they roomed together during the Olympis Bowe was worried about losing. Mercer continually said during Bowe's career that Riddick has no heart and that he'd quit during a fight sooner or later.

    laugh it up chuckles ...he would have made more money fighting either one of them then he did fighting your buddy herbie ...

    bowe went life and death with a guy who was blown out of the water by any decent punching fighter that hes faced ... also a guy who quit agianst one of the biggest jokes of the heavyweight division ever ...
