For those that were around at the time or have the info, why didn't Tyson stay with Giachetti?

He seemed to refine Tyson and would stay on him in the corner, Tyson appeared to respond well to his instructions. I thought he looked a far more mature fighter under Giachetti, and it would have made sense for him to stick with him. Anyone recall why they only worked together sporidically?

Tyson’s management was a mess after he lost the title and originally Giachetti was only hired to assist Snowell and Jay Bright from time to time. If I remember correctly Giachetti was only treated as Tyson’s lead trainer for one fight.

After the ear bitting incident Tyson replaced his entire management staff and he had an ongoing lawsuit with Don King, so his new manager Shelly Finkel didn’t see any reason to bring back Giachetti, who had a connection with King.

Finkel thought Tyson needed all new staff trainer and all and suggested Tommy Brooks, who eventually did end up getting the job.
