Country men in Canada should be very proud of Pascal. He fought the best he could and fought hard all night. This fight was not a cake walk.

I'll elaborate on this. Yes it was a good fight, HOps used almost every trick on the book on Pascal, and Pascal didn't have an answer. He's one dimensional, doesn't have stamina, he's good good power and speed, but is wild, off balance, goes for bombs... He's ALWAYS been like that. He got rocked by bums and looked like **** vs no names... But then he claimed that he was injured, that people "didn't see the real Jean-Pascal". There's only one Jean. It's the one who got defeated by a 46 yo hopkings. The one who gasses out, throws wild haymakers, gets offbalanced, has limited defense...

Whoever thought that this Jean was P4P, one of the greatest boxers of today, also got taught a lesson, Pascal has a ton of weaknesses which get exploited. Like I said, reminded me of Nasseem Hamed. Great against bums (which can't even be said for Jean Pascal because he looked like **** vs bums, and by bums I mean not the greatest fighters, nto litterally that he goes out in the street to face bums... ), but vs a good boxer, his weaknesses can be exploited. Saw it with Froch, vs Hopkins, even vs Dawson, who unluckily got cut and couldn't finish the fight... (who knows he could have finished off Pascal, Pascal certainly wasn't looking too good at the end of the fight...).

So yeah, while Hopkins did his part, and beat Pascal, it's a little bit like RJJ vs Ruiz, Hops being RJJ and Pascal being Ruiz, the 'weak' champion, with flaws he knows he can exploit... Except instead of weight it was age... Yeah it was a good fight, Hops did extremely well, but Pascal did usual Pascal, which isn't the greatest to begin with... And that puts the hamper on things. It's Jean Pascal...

Arretes tu vas me faire mouiller...

:deal Don't know how some could see it any other way... The worst is that he made a joke of himself with his out of the ring antics... If it was only his boxing, I wouldn't go as far as to say he was a joke...

Hopkins is the kinda guy who's proud of ruining careers, but only had fine words for Pascal and he's positive that this particular foe - unlike Tito or Pavlik - will come back stronger. Jean has that Glen Johnson mentality, he just needs to work on some technique and stamina and he'll do fine. He's also good sports and I'm sure he'll get another shot a title soon.

Let's not forget that he gave Hopkins two pretty tough evenings. Yes, Hopkins is well into his 40's, but even then he's capable of handling, and in many cases outright schooling other fighters far more easily than he was able to do against Pascal. A draw and a close decision loss, where Pascal DID have moments, against an all time legend is nothing to be ashamed of.

Don't know where he'll go from here, but I'd say it's far too soon to write Pascal off completely as a force in the LH division.

    Exactly.

4 years ago, I doubt anyone would have predicted Pascal to be where he is now.

he'll be back, I was proud of him. It was a great fight with a lot of intensity and as a boxing fan that's what we expect from our favorite fighters. They don't have to win every time.
